Hi is yr child with ESF schools?  This thread reminded me of myself a year ago coz i was asking the same question... what shall i put in my daughter's lunch box everyday?  Half excited and half worried....

If you are with ESF, the first day shld be a half day and not full day, right?  They wl be dismissed before lunch.

But the principle is, the easier to eat the better.  Most of the time they do not finish their lunch and their lunch time is very limited.  You know what children are like.. They prefer playing to eating.  You will soon notice that your child comes home from school complaining that she/he is hungry.  You ask why he doesnt finish his lunch and his excusses wl most probably be "oh I forgot to eat", or "the bell rang" etc (^-^).

My suggestions are:-

(1) fried rice with veggies, eggs or meat
(2) sushi
(3) spaghetti
(4) sandwich

Hi happy-kid,

This is what I do, hope that it would help.

First of all, I have 2 kinds of Lunch Box. 1 for cold food (a piece of blue ice and an insulated lunch pack) and a normal lunch box.

I personally prefer my son to have cold food as there is less chance than the food would be spoiled and result in food poisoning. I can keep the food chilled until lunch time but we can't reheat the cook food for our children.

1. Pasta salad and fruit.
2. Sandwich and yogurt.

i also concern on the lunch box issue....where can i buy the box with blue ice?

hi piggyloo,

Sorry that I got my son's box with the blue ice fitting from the States. However, I notice that Rubbermaid do have a small size blue ice which will fit into a lunch box no problem. Do not buy those soft plastice ice pack type as the package might leaks.
