Yes, the probability quite depends on your kid's academic performance for HACS's first selection. After selection (around 10 applicants), then the critical point is the written examination for entry and finally not more than 4 applicants could enter the school.
However, the application must be made before June each year.

Thanks for your info. I sent my application in June, but didn't had any feedback. My daughter's result is pretty good. She is 3rd of the class from a well-know private primary school. maybe, the competitors are too keen.

I recalled that the notice from school would be made in around Mid-July, keep on awaiting good news..

They sent me a letter and said there is no space for P.3.
