Maryknoll~是官校,沒有面試的, 所以就要大抽獎!!

Maryknoll不是官校,都有自行收生的,不過d位唔多,然後先要大抽獎.
其實睇下你點裁培小朋友,kv出來的小朋友比較有紀律,中數也不錯.St. Cat出來的小朋友,英文底子好d.
如果你真係想讀名校,除學校教育外,也可給她上些興趣班,等佢習慣面對不同的人,加強小朋友自信,面試表現自然會好!

I have already enrolled my daughter in playgroups for English/ Spanish/ Putonghua. Later, I'll join her into music classes.
My friend's friend's child studied in kv and she said the teachers only cares the academics of the children, but do not "love" children so much as in other kindergarten. Do you know anyone having children studying there?

How old is your baby? Mine is 1 year old and I'm thinking to let her learn Spanish later too. How's your baby learning? I'm afraid if she may be confused about different languages before she can speak Cantonese well...

Actually, many parents have your concern.
I've already started my bb's language classes when she was 6 months old. In my opinion, I'm not afraid of my bb mixing up the languages. I believe that children starting early can help them not scared of learning different languages and can let them master the special sounds of the languages better: e.g. the "r" sound in Spanish is totally different than that of Putonghua/ English/ Japanese/ French.
My bb is only 8 months old now, she cannot speak yet, but she can "show" that she has learned the things by responding to the teachers. Of course, at this stage, she is only capable of responding to a few things, but that's good enough as I'm concerned. She also pays good attention to the teacher, which I think is not easy in a 1 hr class at this age.
So, are you looking at the appropriate playgroups now? Do you hv any ideas about kindergarten yet?

I don't think KM's Eng is not good enough, on the contrary, it's good at languages. I just consider the syllabus may be a bit harsh.
I'm not looking for the "famous" kindergartens, that's why KV and St Cat are not my cup of tea.

首先, maryknoll 自行收生都唔係 "自己話事" 係要計分, 呢個分數, 係睇有無姊姊讀緊, 係咪教友, 母親係咪 old girl 等之類的關係分. 詳情你可以去 http://embhsc.hkedcity.net/primary/
睇睇. 基本上官津校除左好不幸要去到叩門階段, 你讀咩幼稚園, 報左幾多興趣班, 有幾叻叻都無用. 最重要有關係 (光明正大計分的關係, 唔係講走後門), 或者要有運, 你唯一可以做就搬入佢校網, 入教 (當然唔鼓勵單純為入讀), 其餘你可以幫到佢的唔多.
如果你想入 kv, 唔使攪咁多, 你攪掂到時佢 interview表現應該都唔難入, 聽聞過往佢年年都會考唱一首歌. 佢地英文係相對較弱, 好多家長要自行在外 "攪掂" 佢 (我朋友佢 2 個仔讀緊, 連 phonics都無).
km.....功課都深架, 我有鄰居女兒讀緊, 英文一定比 kv 深. st cat 我都有鄰居個女讀緊, 佢講英文算係幾好.

如果一定係呢 3 間我揀, 唔計名氣我真係會 km, 學到野之餘又唔會太呆板. 不過如果小朋友都仲係細, 不如睇定 d 佢個性再考慮都未遲....最重要係.....未必一定間間實考得到架, 到時報晒全報咁多間至決定未遲.

Dear all,
My daughter just finished K3 in Kentville and is now going to Maryknoll. Frankly speaking, Kentville is very strong in language, especially Chinese. Parents always comment St. Catherine is more strong in English, while KV is a little bit less outstanding.
However, when I view all the assignments and worksheet of KV's English, it's not weak at all, and my daughter is having accurate pronunciation.
While for the matter of which kindergarten has advantage in Maryknoll's admission, its totally independent, since MCS a government school which needs to follow the POA system, but kids from kindergartens like St Cat/KV do have the advantage to cope with MCS's standard.
While for DGJS, since that's a private school, studying in CCKG definitely have great advantage. DGJS is in favour of CCKG's students

Maryknoll 係津校, 就算你讀名幼稚園, 參加多個興趣班, 學外語都無用, 最緊要你有"關係分", 即舊生/宗教分.
叩門位我估某些名校有優勢, 但叩門位得咁少, 而且要等到最後關頭, 相信你有直資收都唔會等.
