你係想考幼稚園定係小學呀 ? 考幼稚園的話, 應該唔洗做portfolio架喎 ! 我兩個囡加埋interview左十幾間幼稚園, 都無一間要架喎 !

yes ar, i think the most important thing is photos, I submitted a printed photos mix with the application form (i combined about 12 photos on one A4 papers) i really think that help

i would use photocap, it's a free software and can be found easily~

as far as I know, no KG ask for portfolio.
But some may welcome supplementary info.

I actually have prepared a personal log for my lovely BoBo (sth like portfolio) about 10 pages, but i didn't send it along with application form.

Is it really helpful? Anyway, i enjoy to prepare this personal log and it will be a good memory.

I know some playgroup tutor able to help to prepare such portfolio / recommendation letter to their students. Checked with your playgroup tutor if you join it.

Most of the playgroup tutor is profit-originated and they can write your baby as smart as he can on your request. You know, it is part of their customer service. Hence no one would trust it. I believe that most important is the interview or examination, those fancy stuff is no use at all.
