我想係暑假幫囝囝報teen explorer ( 11-13 yrs old ) 既組別，可否分享經驗, thank you !

哈哈!!!会被蚊咬到豬頭噤, 又会曬到成嚿炭咁番黎, 亦有機会跌斷手, 都幾辛苦, 不過男仔俾佢試下都幾好

那年他參加了10歲組, 但導師說不同組別的活動會部份相同, 但難度不同. 是的, 要跳海, 印像中好似有一晚露營, 或是行夜路. 仔細活動記不清楚了, 但是很辛苦, 不過孩子都玩得很高興, 及很自豪. 身體損傷如擦傷,蚊咬,曬傷是會有的, 因為他們都不太懂愛惜自己的身體,導師只會提提他們.
如果你的孩子從未參加過類似的營, 是會很辛苦的, 因為我估計13歲組的要求會較10的高.要看看他是甚麼性格了.

忘了說, 有救生衣的, 就算不懂游泳的孩子也要跳,因為他們的目的是訓練孩子的膽量.還有, 8成是戶外活動, 我當初也很"肉赤", 但現在並不後悔, 今年如果去得成, 兩個兒子都是第二次去了. 也是他們自己要求再去的.

見到outward bound, 真係好懷念! 我中二三o個時去過兩次, 兩次都係去7日, 一次去志風號(好似退o左役o勒), 另一次去一個離開訓練中心o既地方, 名我唔記得o勒! 呢兩次camping 對我人生真係有影響o家, 我到依家都仲好記得o個兩次o既經歷, 極之值得去! 我都會俾我兩個仔去!

你話辛唔辛苦? 咁多多少少都會o既, 跳海每一朝都要做; 仲要日日行山, 隔日o係山上面過; 爬獨木舟爬到兩隻手舉唔起; 唔夠淡水所以幾日都冇得沖涼, 只分到一"學"水係咁二沖o下身; 試揸船, 揸到架船行s字; 坐船暈浪嘔到連黃膽水都出埋, 成個口苦哂, 喉嚨都傷埋, 我到依家仲好記得嘔完第二朝食o既合味道海鮮麵o既個種味!! 仲有好多好多好難忙o既事..... 真係好回味!! 其實小朋友就係要有呢d經歷, 人生先會豐富, 小小辛苦一d都唔覺得係一回事, 我仲記得去o既第一日好想快d走, 到走o個日都不知幾唔捨得!

見到這篇都想回應吓!去了兩次的是我女兒,第一次是在升四年級的暑假(當時八歲幾)去了一星期,這星期可說是音訊全無.第二次是今年她中四,亦是一星期.
這兩次的經驗對我女兒在不同的階段,都留下很深刻的經歷與體驗.尤其第二次,雖然比第一次辛苦百倍,但她回來後那份滿足感,我覺幾辛苦都值得.

Is it too tough for a 8 years old boy to join the outward bound? Please advice.
( He never overnight outside and he is not too sporty)

I applied the camp for my 8 years old son this morning. The reception told me it was not that tough at all, the only tough thing is 跳海 even for the young kid.

1)不要帶手提電話，入營前，工作人員會收起所有手提電話；
2)不要帶水，因為大會已準備水壺及水；
3)不要帶零食，入營前，工作人員會收起各人的零食。當年大會準備Kindder朱古力。

如果有時間的話，帶小朋友入營時，可以留下聽Briefing。離營前，盡量早些到達參加小型畢業禮及表演。

吳好miss他們捱更抵夜地開會的精采表演。

因為當年是冬天，所以帶備長、短褲及蚊膏蚊貼，以備不時之需。

不用帶錢，沒有機會使用。

其他，可能太辛苦的關係，回家後，她睡了1日1夜。

I sent my 9 years old boy there this morning. And there were a lot of people-many kids are speaking English(I guess they are mainly from international school)
The teacher gave me a website told me that I can click in the wedsite every night to see the pic which will take by them daily.
The backpack was so heavy (5 days 4 night), hope he enjoy the camp.
Will update news after the trip on next Monday. So that the other parent can have more reference and less worry for their kids.

個backpack 揹一揹就放低, camping 時會派個細背囊比佢地...

I picked up my son yesterday. He looked like Michael Jackson

. All BLACK even he putted on the sunblock (All parent you need to remind kids to put sunblock all over the neck too, specially the back of the neck).
Beside mosquitoes, there were a lot flea I guess. My son got a lot of red spots on the body, ears-they are not itchy but looked awful.
My son told me the breakfast-Toast/ Bread with orange juice/ con-gee. Lunch and Dinner: Rice/ noodle, meat and veg plus fruits.
Everyday need to walked miles and miles, my son toes got hurt. If don't like to swim on the sea, you can choice to stay on land and play games.

During the pick up meeting, most of kids said they don't want to go anymore in their life. And I saw many kids keep complaining their parent to send them there, only 10-15% kids who enjoy during the camp. The kids nowadays are so lucky in their daily life. (I think i will send my kid there again with one more friend to have a better accompany.)

Did your son make any complaint ?
My sons will go with one of his schoolmate. Hope it will be overcame easily.
As my son studies in Boys school, I hope this trip will make him more independent.
Did they arrange any presentation for parents?

Hi my son is pale white, therefore there was a big different.

I think is better to go with schoolmate/ relative or friends. My son was alone during the camp, because of this he think it was not FUN at all. He told me many people have friends accompany therefore they have there own community.

Oh my son complaint so much. I told my hubby I think my son hate me after this. But he was not. My son told me the teacher said-"everyone have to go to OUTWARD bound at lease 1 in their life." My son said he did already and please don't send him anymore in the rest of his life.

But I think I will , but next time with some of his fiends. I think he might change his mind and will feel better.

I as a parent i think is a very good experience for kids-specially for boy.

P.S: They did arrange a presentation to parent at the end of the day. It took around 1-1.5H
1) Kids got a play
2) Show the photos
3) Give them a certificate

When the time you drop down your kid, the teacher will give you a note.
1) the website you can click in every night to see the pic-what they are doing on daily
2) The pick up time and date

For my case: They asked me to go there at 2:00. The presentation start at 2:30 and finish in around 1H-1.5H (You can talked to the teacher about how's your kids doing during the camp).

去outward bound 的其中一個目的, 就是認識朋友, 和跟一些不認識的人相處。

如果個個同friend 去, 就會形成好多個小圈子, 失去outward bound 的真正意義... 不如你地自己搞camp 玩!

以前就算兩兄弟去都要分開唔同組, 依家d家長好多要求, 又要編埋一組, 又話要早d走, 我個仔仲話有人smuggled 左薯片夜晚偷偷地吃 ... 搞到冇晒紀律

尋日結業禮未開始, d 家長個camp site行黎行去, 仲同自己仔女揮手, 教練講其實課程未完, 佢地仲排緊戲, 而且有其他programs 的參加者進行緊課程, d家長咁做好騷擾...

Nevermind, if her friend wil not join, she can join with my son and his friend.
Although they are studying in Boys' school, they do not " scare " girls.

好認同你的講法. 起初我都諗住幫亞仔約個friend一齊去, but有朋友提醒我去outward bound的其中一個目的, 係同一d不認識的人相處及合作, 所以亞仔都係一個人參加.
亞仔明天出發啦, 我好緊張, 又肉痛呀!

Is it a 5 days camp or 3 nights? If 3 night only, I don't think you can go to check the pic on the web.

My son joined 5 days course. After I confirmed with their staff this afternoon, the website is arranged for 8-10 age group only.
