因為讀"M" "T" "R"。"M"的發音是 em,所以用 an。

Yes.  The same principle applies to F, H, L, N, R, S and X.  For example,

Pls note that for "U", we should use "a" instead because the letter sound of U is like "you".  This explains the following:
