請問大家覺得嶺南小學點樣？（校風和成績）
雖然坊間似乎對此學校沒有很多comments！但所找到的都幾正面！

希望有子女讀緊嶺南的家長可以分享下經驗。
另外，不知大家知不知為何這校每班的人數那麼少（18-22人）。是否收生不足？

1. Last time I've met a teacher during their open day in Sept.  I remember the teacher explained that they cut one class as they want to free more classroom as special room for better learning.  Unfortunately, after they finish some school improvement construction work and want to resume back to 2 classes, the birth rate is low.  People think that they must have some problem so they have only one class.

2.  My friend told me that her niece is a student in Lingnan kindergarten but fall to be admitted to the primary school.  The reason is that they cut one class at that year.

Combine the above 2 observations, I believe what the teacher had told me.  I felt sorry about that as I think this is a good school and I am still struggling.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

I don't know the primary school but my son is attending the kindergarten now. I can say it is such a perfect school. Good teachers and facilities is clean. Right choice for you. Good luck.

The school is small and it seems that all the staff are very caring and the students that we met are very polite. My girl was quite nervous during the interview but the Principal was very nice. Anyway, we'll attend the 2nd interview on Thursday.

I think your daughter will get a place. I was also impressed by the good manner of the students there! (as compare with some of the school I've visited during their open days.)

Don't know. Actually I'm struggling whether to let my girl go to P1 or repeat K3. As she's actually underaged (born in Jan 2004), we originally plan to let her repeat K3 in the current school. However, her teacher & Principal sincerely advised us to find her either another kindergarten to repeat K3 or a primary school that accept her which can help her to have a better development. As my girl's quite smart, they're afraid that remain in the current school next year may affect her progress.....

Jan 2004 might be a bit too young. However, if your girl is very smart, you may still discuss with the Principal and let her try Lingnan P1. Unlike boys, girls would be easier to catch up. For repeating K3, I agree that repeating in another kindergarten would be much better.
Let's see what would be the suggestion from Principal in Lingnan.

How about your kid? Is he / she going to study P1 in Sep? Which school will he / she take?

He's in K3 now. I've still not yet made up my mind. Most probably we would choose among Lingnan or Kau Yan.

I think the chance seems to be quite high. We met the Principal & P1 classmistress. I've a very good impression on the school especially the staff's sincere & caring attitude. Then your son has already got offer from both Lingnan & Kau Yan?

Have you decided? I finally choose Tai Hang True Light due to its secondary school.....but really feel pity to withdraw from Lingnan.

Hi Twinsboy08,

Nice to see you again.
Hahaaaa … we are on the same boat (Lingnan’s N1 Parent in 2010).
I want to gather more info about Lingnan Kinder before I make the final decision (Lingnan or KCS 蘇浙).
Some people said KCS’s P1 allocation is not very outstanding when compare to Lingnan.
What are your target Primary School?

Good to see you here also. My target would be St Stephen, DBS (Yes, need to look for those on Kowloon side as limited choice for boys here on HK island), etc...haven't really thought too much yet...so much stress ...what about you ?

Twinsboy08 – I don’t have a target list yet too, just have the following primary schools in my mind:

Wah Yan

St. Joseph

Hennessy Road Gov’t

St. Louis

Frankly, DBS is not on my list at this stage unless I found that my boy are really smart.
I’m a very loose mom, really don’t want to pick those very pushy & blue blood school.

I really hope my baby can study in Lingnan,

because my baby is a very young baby (Dec 08),

I would let her to study 2 years in PN and then enter a better K1 as 大b,

That is why I don't want to give her too much stress on accademic for her first year. Lingnan is very ideal!
