He reads flash cards and"your baby can read" vcd . Now I try to read him storybooks. But he is not interested in reading books and goes away. What can I do to motivate him?

my boy doesnt like story book.. he wont sit still and listen to us!
but he really like to read the letters and words! so, I bought those word books to expand his vocabulary. He likes encyclopedia too.. and I will point the words he knows and say the whole sentence. Then, I bought some books with short sentence, e.g. I can read, I can run etc.
I think, step by step, from words to phrase then sentence.. it's how we learn to read!

我就無刻意教個仔睇書, 淨係將佢d書放喺當眼處, 我自己就經常喺佢面前睇書, 睇雜誌, 佢見得多就自然會自己攞書睇, 我見佢拎起本書, 就同佢講吓d內容.

我剛好同樓下相反, 一開始就全語文 (中文都一樣), 成句成句睇, 遇有唔識的生字先解釋. 當然最初的句子會較短, 慢慢就可以睇比較複雜的內容.
我揀書包括 reading series/百科等 (方便跟進度), 另加任何可以配合學校主題的輔助讀物 + 日常生活有關的 (如節日或興趣班活動等, 等小朋友有親切感和閱讀動機).

每個小朋友興趣不同, 有時搵書佢不一定有興趣, 要試唔同種類...每日固定時間睇, 數量不一定多, 時間不一定好長 (慢慢會越來越長), 但要有恒心, 日日如是....

我儘量每天都讀卡同abc書等，佢好鍾意聽我讀某幾本英文單字書，讀完要再讀，但一講故事就行左去。但佢而家已好有興趣自己睇書。Cheers!

我和你的做法相若,但我每晚都會同仔仔講故事

How old will they usually start reading book (say A, B, C or vocab) ?

My baby will only tear / eat the board books. Whenever I show him the board books, he will grab it from my hand immediately, but then "eat".
