My daughter is in K1 (Eng/Put class) now. CKY is my top top priority as I share its vision. How should I prepare my daughter for the interview, in particular? Should I enrich her spoken English? cos' she prefer to speak Putonghua after the 1st semester of her K1 life. The interview is in English, right?
Most of my friend has arranged many different interest classes or even Maths/Eng training classes etc. for their kids at same age as my daughter. I'm a bit no idea if I have set this 'CKY' goal.
Will be much much appreciated for CKY parents' advice....please
Great to hear that you share the school vision, that is indeed a key to preparing your girl for CKY.
As for the interview, perhaps you should spend some time reading through a couple of recent discussion threads among 2008-09 or 2009-10 parents who have had much to share.
My two cents' worth is: showing an interest in reading, plus a reasonable command of the two languages (esp English) would certainly help.

I wish to send my boy to this school also, may I also ask which kindy are they mostly from?thanks
I know that in recent years, quite a lot of students came from St Cat, Learning Habitat, Hong Kong Pre-school, that the schools are positioned as bi-lingual schools.
May I ask which public exam is for CKY's secondary students to apply university? If it is HK local exam system, can they have enough acemedic level to compete with HK local students. My friend told me it is IB system. But I read a message on magazine that it's IB is only accepted by HK and China now. I also cannot find it's name on IB website about the authorised schools to run IB. Pls advise. Thanks!!

Quite a lot of LHK K3 students are accepted by CKY this year.
Given an annual intake of 150+ students, students come from quite a 'wide' range of kindergartens. Traditional ones like Kentville (no offense) and other locals are definitely among them.
I also want my sons to study in CKY, they are now in K2 but they don't like reading even we visit library for many times.
They only listen to my story telling but don't like to pick up a book and read by themselve. Would it be a hurdle for the interview? Even if they are lucky enough to be accepted by CKY, will they be difficult to cope with the school life?
Let me share some of my view on reading
I used to bring my girl to the library or even I will go by myself and pickup whatever books for her.
Then I realized whether it is an interesting story is an important factor whether she would like to read.
Then I try to pick up some interesting story, even myself will find it interesting, and pass her to read.
I can see the result is encouraging.
So, interest comes first especially for the child as small as 4-5.

Thanks for your sharing, I do try to bring up their interest on reading. But they are twin boys who cannot sit even for a while, they always play with each other and running all the time. It's even hard to get them sit for story telling. So I think they would be hard to get seats at CKY.....:<
