蘇浙如不是幼兒班上，基本上都是會讀pm,如你有心讀建議你立即寫信要求有位就轉am.
真光不是幼稚園-小學-中學嗎？如是女仔我會選真光。我仔之前的英文補習姐姐就是真光學生，給我的感覺很不錯。

以我所見, 兩間學校的理念都不同.
家校合作: 真光極好, 好多家長活動
普通話: 當然是KCS 啦
真光人地話中文好, 英文一般, 但我不知道. KCS 就是外籍老師教英文
真光教小朋友重內在美, 多簡樸, 所以你見所用的玩具不似'維記'又多又新

Last year, my baby had Pre-nursery (PN) offers from 維記, 蘇淅 & 衛理堂, I have chosen 蘇淅. A number of my friends' children are attending Victoria PN currently, most of them will change to other KGs next year. Based on the withdrawal rate, I think I have made the right choice for my baby last year. Hope you can made the right one. I know it is a headache. No one can mde the decision for you as each KG has it pros and cons. My baby will attend 蘇淅 KG AM class next year. I am glad we can secure an AM class.

我會選真光. 因為真光歷史猶久, 學校已建立很好的文化和風氣. 小學和中學都辦得不錯, 中學是以英語為授課語言.

My daughter is now studying in Victoria's PN. I also decided to withdraw. Now I am also struggling in choosing 蘇淅 & SMM. Any opinion?

My son is accepted for am class, but will it be difficult as he's not started any N1 class yet
(will start N1 which is in TKO next month )
I think many kids accepted should be from KCS N1.

Most kids can get use to school life within 1-2 months. So, should be fine if you send your son to N1 next month. Your son is great to secure a AM class woh if he has no pre-nusery experience..........do your family have any connection with the school, like alumni?原帖由 sammisammi 於 09-2-11 20:24 發表

我囝囝現在讀緊真光K1, 舊年蘇淅、真光同糧堂都收, 最後我揀真光, 因為校舍實在太吸引了,空氣好小朋友活動地方好多,另外上下午各只有兩班(每班around30人)老師比較容易照顧。 上學期完囝囝無請過1日病假(touchwood
)可能係空氣好掛-以前Nursary時候好易感染到傷風咳, 現在都沒有了, 教學方面真光是活動教學的, 即係唔會谷(聽聞蘇浙好谷) 英文是簡單的,沒有普通話堂，但教中文真光確有一套,囝囝番學無耐就認得"人" "月" "眼" "耳"等字。 所以英文我出去Playground, 普通話我想遲點學都OK(因為我怕會好混亂)。
所以好贊成Chens 話"好depends 你要什麼"

Oh no, we don't have any connection with KCS.
My son is quite lucky, he really performed quite well in all the interviews,
he's accepted by most of the KG.
Just wonder KCS is very very 嚴肅 or actually not like that ? Seems they also have many activities.

我想佢自我控制能力好d. 不過我知道KCS有d 教學方法係要補足, 但唔緊要, 我會自己教返多D.
其實所有學校都有自己的特色, 如果有D方面不足, 你要想想,個D 是否自己能補足. 也不要忘記小朋友自己的感受.

我對孖仔依家在kcs讀k1下午班,so far我覺得佢地教得唔錯,全普通話教學係佢地ga重點,當然我相信大部份家長都係like佢用普通話先選KCS,英文都ok,因為KCS係外籍老師教,我對孖仔好歡喜佢個Miss. KCS d老師我覺得好nice,我唔覺得佢地嚴喎,我覺得KCS每個小朋友都讀得好開心,而且KCS每個月都有園藝會比D家長一齊參加(每個月K1-K3班會有表演.)好攪笑,家長可以透過D活動可以知道小朋友在學校情況都唔錯,所以都好睇家長要D咩要求.

Chens, absolutely agree with your comments. A child only spends approximately 3 hours per day in school and the rest of the time at home, thus, home education in more important in shaping the character of a child. Thus, I think some parents nowaday are over-reacted in selecting the PN or KG for their child and ignore the feeling of their child.........

Have read the thread and found that some parents choose to withdraw from Victoria after studying PN there, may I know why?
Since I am now very headache, my girl is 02/07, she is accepted by KCS PM class and Victoria AM class. I am very struggle coz I like KCS mandarin and teaching style (more serious, not always PLAY, PLAY and PLAY); however, I like Victoria English teaching + morning class.
Can any parents please share with me if:
1) KCS foreigh teachers is really from ENGLISH native countries (coz I heard some are from Russia or Eastern Europe)?
2) Comment of attending afternoon class?

My sons now study in KCS PM class, I feel their teachers are very good and nice, their English teacher is come from UK. K1 - K3 classes have English lesson everyday, I like this school so much as my sons study here very happy. Now they can speak 普通話 with teacher. They just
talk 2 languages in school everday with teacher. I knew some kids study Victoria B4, but some kids went to KCS after Chine new year.
Victoria need to pay HK$3XXX/month but KCS just to pay HK$760. same study method but the price is big different.

Keep writing to the school and stress your intention to go to am if there is seats available. If you have written to them, then you will be in the waitlist for am class.

I did have AM offer cause I worte to school. So, write the letter now and then call to see if they are willing to disclose to you your waitng number and you can guess your chance. If the chance is low, I may choose Victoria as I am a kind of mum insist on sending the kid to AM class. Ther are a lots of good side assoicated with AM class........your kid can have afternoon sleep wich is crucial for the health. Time for other things such as interest class is more easy to arrange. I have chosen KCS instead of Victoria because Victoria only offered my baby PM class last year. After my baby going to KCS for almost half year, I think this school is good except adminstratively. Also, I like the environment of KCS more than Victoria.

No worry of KCS english teachers, they are really foreigner, but Victoria, there're some ABC (American Born Chinese) speaking english also. Depends on your requirement.
For KCS, there're some historial foundings, but may not be reflected as your year. There're some boys/girls will be withdrawn to ESF during K2, so there're still chances to attend AM class during K2.
Parents, choose your kindergarten in teaching method and approach, suggest not to just think of AM or PM, since children get less sleep in PM when they grow.

How about the chances of promotion from KCS N1 to K1? I heard a parent said only 50% kids from KCS N1 can be promoted to KCS K1; I called also KCS today and they said all KCS N1 student needs to gone through an interview with also other non-KCS kids in order to get a seat in K1, too.
But do you know the real case, I mean can you share if what you know is the same?? I mean the chances of promotion directly from KCS N1 to K1? Since it definitely affect my decision coz Victoria guarantee direct promotion fom N to K.

I don't know the statistic, but based on my experience, I will only say the N1 students of KCS will have a higher chance of admission to KCS KG if your child's performance is acceptable, no need to be very good. My child's performance is not good nor outstanding during KCS KG interview, but finally got accepted....I think my child attending KCS N1 is of help. I have been worrying it for several months after the interview that I need to look for other KG......and feel so released now. Actually, if I were the teacher in KG, I would also prefer those already attending KCS N1 as they already got used to KCS's Mandarine teaching media and the environment.
Chens, I do think afternoon sleep is very important to a child before she/he goes to primary school. To me, health built up when she/he is small is more valuable than knowledge or skills gained from school.

As far as I learnt from this year K1 mum (whose child attend N class last year), there are a few in the class that failed the interview, I mean a few out of the 30 in the class.

No, based on my understanding, Victoria has English every day, one of the teachers in charge of the class is a English speaking person.........thus, they are stronger than KCS if you are talking about English only. The above statement is true only if that teacher is proactive in talking with students as a few of my friends told me the English speaking person in their kids class (in Victoria) is not proactive at all..........that is just physically exist.
