一開始我就用英文同呀囝講野, 姐姐用英文, 婆婆用中文, Daddy而家用全中文.

之前在基督教......會(forgot the full name) 上了一堂"牙牙學語"亦睇過一些書/newspaper講最好用一種語言同小朋友溝通. 這樣小朋友學講野會快的, 容易的同避免語言障礙.

其實我唔會比個囝讀國際學校, 只係想佢自少接觸英文, 有興趣學. 加上現在考Kinder, 唔係國際學校, 都會用英文考吓咁. 但一邊的唸法又覺得如果全家講中文, 佢真係會學講野快的喎!

各位媽媽, 你地點睇呢?

我同你的心態一樣，起初都是全英，但參考過專家意見，我都係用中文啦！我想bb的認知能力好d, 我會等bb到k1時就我用英文同她講話，爸爸用中文。。。。

以前我用英文時，bb幾個月時懂得讀flower, 自從用中文后，她已經忘記了flower的發音，現在只懂講“花“

世事無兩全其美，但我發覺用中文后，bb懂得很多事物！
況且，我check過，我心儀的幼稚園可用中文面試，所以決定全中啦

how old is your baby?
if you speak in Cantonese, will you still let her to read books/watch DVD/play cards in Eng? or all in Chinese?

我個case係一開始我已經想只係教bb廣東話先, 奈何工人係英文好過中文, 我地每日只係有兩個小時可以同bb玩, 而bb又好跟工人.......

唯有妥協, 工人用全英文同bb溝通, 佢負責播dvd (英語) 比bb睇. 我bb好遲先開口講bb語(接近歲半), 我好驚佢係有語障. 之後突然講好多野, 都係英文先. 但係我發現佢返左學後講多左廣東話, 可能係d同學仔教佢既.

我覺得我個b一開始講野後, 進度發展好快, 追返同期既小朋友.

you baby study in International school or local school?

I've bought a lot of English books, DVD and books for her to read, my daughter is now 16 months! but sometimes, I also use mix-code, for example, bird in chinese 雀仔 is difficult for my bb to pronounce, then I teach her "bird"， now whenever she sees a bird, she can say bird !

So, same to you, I feel confused of deciding the main language to communicate with my daughter

My baby is just 21 mth, only goes to playgroups. One playgroup is conducted in Cantonese, one in English and Cantonese, and the third one in Mandarin and English.
