Hi Can someone tell me which school my son should choose, St Paul Boys or Hennessy Government School (PM)? As both schools have accepted my son. Very headache. Thanks.

Having lived in HK for almost all my life, I have to say I haven't heard of Hennessy Gov School. I am sure it is a good school. However, St Paul Boys is very well recognised as a very good and prestigeous school. Since I know nothing about Hennessy Gov, I can't comment on differences in any other aspects between the 2 schools. Of course, I can only speak for myself.

I heard that the academic standard is better in the AM one. However, I know a NET who used to teach there told me that unless you can gaurantee your kid to get into the 2 elite classes, his school life would be better. For the rest, they just let them be! So, you'd better seek more info from those who really study there.

Moreover, you need to check the school time. Your kid may come home as late as 7:00pm.

I know many people like this school because it has better chance to get into Queen's (but mostly for AM students.)

Thanks for your comments. All I know is the chance of getting into Queens College from Henessy Govt Primary School is no less than 30% based on this year's result. Next year a high % of boys have been accepted into P1. So I guess the chance of my boy's getting into QC will be even less. The other associated government schools are Victoria Tang Shui Kin, Ho Tung Girls, Clementi, and one famous girl school. Another chance is getting into SKH Tang Shui Kin. Is this a band 1 school?

On the other hand, over 75% of the St Paul Boys P school will go to St Paul Boys Secondary School. Of course the other consideration if the school fee. Hennessy Govt P School is free and St Paul Boys fee is $3000 per month. If you were me what is your choice? Thanks.

Victoria TSK & SKH TSK???? I just know SKH TSK jar. I have very little knowledge in Wan Chai's secondary school.

If $$$ is your concern, think twice la. I personally don't like half-day primary school.

Paul Boys' 係直資, 學校問左政府拎$, 但係用$上較津校自由度大, 所以只要校長係真正攪教育, 所洗既一分一亳都係我地個仔得益.

同時, 當年我揀SPC, 都有考慮到中學. SPC中學算係OK, 加上新任校長似乎對學生有要求 (學術上同德育上), 我有信心佢會攪好學校, 有中學駁住上, 始終"安心"D.

進可攻, 退可守. 就算他朝我個仔唔入SPC中學, 佢去第二間中學時, 我都唔會太擔心佢追唔上.

好想問呢你囝囝幼稚園係讀邊間呢 ? 我咁問係因為我好想我囝囝考入 St Paul Boys, 但而家考慮緊入讀 st paul kindergarten, 但佢係天主教學校. 而 st paul boys 係基督教既. 所以諗緊會唔會因此而減低咗囝囝考入 st paul boys 既機會囉.
