11/27 巳經註冊完, 應該有D位Out番出黎。請問有冇人收到電話wait list 嘅小朋友取錄呀???

Take it easy. My son is also on the waiting list. I comforted him that 'Snoppy Principal loved him very much and didn't want him to travel a lot every day (from Fanling) because he was too young (just 5 yrs. old today). I didn't tell him anything about the "waiting" list. I don't want to disappoint him again. One disappointment is enough. School is a starting point for his life and Primary School is just one of the stops. Don't make our shoulders (and our kids') too heavy!

Did you watch the video about Nick, the guy without any limbs? You may feel better after watching it. We are lucky indeed.

Don't be frustrated. DBS still hasn't released results yet. As long as you're on the waiting list, you still have a chance even you miss this time.

Did your friend submit any letter to YW after the release of acceptance list on 24/11?

I 'll not tell my son anything about the waiting list until he has got the offer.

Yes, my friend's son got admitted to LS in the Govt's 1st round lottery. This family has given up YW.
Be patient, the school may call applicant in batch later.

My friend did send 2 letters to YW after 24/11 and they were called to register last week as they had been on waiting list.

So please send letters if you really like YW.

英華副校長之前親口講既:如果真係好想入,就要經常update小朋友既資料,等佢地知道你好有誠意.
我諗所有表示到誠意既方式都可以.

of course, write english and send first..and then spend sometimes to write another one in chinese or update profile ...resend them later.

Over one week that nobody reply this topic. Is it means YW still not calling the waiting list?

This is my rough guess. Maybe there won't be many applicants give up their offers at this stage. After all, not too many with 20 marks can bingo La Salle are also on the list of Ying Wah. For those got other DSS or private offers, some parents may keep more than one school for further consideration.

Do keep on writing to Ying Wah because DBS will release results very soon. There should be more overlapping on the applicants of the two schools. Wish you all receive good news before xmas.

我講過好多次....dont give up....無所不用其技 (合法果d) 去為你小兒爭取多0.1分都好....林校長非常注重家長在身教的角色, 連寫信都不去做, 那林校長怎可以相信你將來會為你小兒付出時間精神. 與其臨淵羨魚,不如退而結網.

其實, 我12月初已寫過一封信去update有關囝囝的一些活動. 另外, 昨日下午再親手交一封叩門信去學校, 校務處的職員收左, 見佢放左響個tray到. 當時, 剛剛見林校長經過, 真想親手交到她手中. 不過, 當然無咁做. 我怕會太唐突, 唔多禮貌.

多謝大家的tips, 我會繼續努力的. 希望等到電話!

For everyone's info, my son also got a call from Ying Wa on Mon morning. We registered yesterday. I also thought that we would need to wait until DBS result is released tim.

I don't understand that why YW will release more place for waiting list after DBS posting out the result.

If a boy is accepted by both YW & DBS and already registered in YW in advance, I think most of the parents will not inform YW to give up the seat. Actually, some parents hold 3-4 places since each school release their result at various period.

As both DBS and YW is "DSS" school, we can not enroll 2 "DSS" schools at the same time. Correct me if i am wrong.

yes..DSS school will submit the list to Education Department on confirmed enrollment. No lottery and no other DSS.

Certainly, they could write a letter to ED to withdraw their enrollment to DSS and register another.

On the other hand, Private school will not notify ED. You could still have the lucky draw and hold the place in Private school before next September 2009.

報o左dss只係唔可以經政府分配官津學位, 但唔影響你o係其他dss或私校o既位o家! 政府雖然有齊哂每一間dss o既收生名單, 但佢唔會sort out d 重覆o既學生又或者通知其他學校, 所以有人會有幾個dss offer o係手... 要放番d位出o黎, 只可以靠家長自律, 自動自覺通知各家學校o家咋~~

I remember in the SPCC's briefing, its Principal also asked the parents not to hold more than one seat in order to give more chance for other children. Hence, I believe that some parents hold more than one seat of dss.

Era, the web site did mention about this function but its presentation is not so eye-catching. I also missed it. I want to bring my boy there too. That's one of the 190 anniversary activities.

Geni, anything special there? I only ate with my son in the canteen when we had the final interview last time.

Don't know if there will be any functions open to the public before next September. We really want to visit the school again.
