如題, 因本人覺得林校長傾向喜歡有兄弟的小朋友.

My son failed to get a place on 24/11. He didn't get any brother or sister. He was born in late November 2003.
I don't know if age is also a concern of YW as what the other so-called "Top" schools do.

本人的囝囝也是今年被‘英華’取錄的一份子，在我認識的人際網絡之中，連埋我囝囝總共有5位都是獨生子而又被‘英華’取錄的，所以這原因應該很微。

我都係呀、校長第一句就問我有幾多個小朋友、我話重有一個弟弟、跟住全程就問囝囝好多野、好好彩取錄o左囝囝。

I don't think so...a few of of my friend's son accepted are only child.

I believe that Ms Lam ask about no. of kids mainly to start a conversation. We were asked the same question during the final interview. As soon as I told her my son has a young sister, she stop me right away and ask my son how does he play with his sister and how does he handle conflict when it occurs.

何個仔仔都考到YW 他也是獨子, 其實我覺得林校長選學生主要是孩子的表現, 因整個interview她只是不斷提及1st interview時小朋友在她房做過什麼事, 考考小朋友之記憶及反應, 反而只是問了我們兩個問題 : - 妳/你覺得兒子有什麼地方似你們 ? 及他的名是誰改的及有沒有什麼意思 ?

My case is same as FM. Principal Lam started the conversation by asking how many children we got and then talked with my son immediately. She then asked something about family and then expanded to other topics with the applicant. According to my observation, interview performance is the crucial factor. She's trying to find "the right one" and reconfirmed something from all these questions.

我好想知道林校長是否很重視家長有否為兒子做Profolio,請問是否有機會有第二次面試及被取錄的都有向學校呈交一份很全面的Profolio

Absolutely Agree.
Whether or not the boy is a "single child" is not the consideration. It doesn't make sense if it is. Though I'm not a fan of Mrs. Lam, I think she acts and thinks in a sensible way.
Also, she's an experienced educator. She should have her expertise in selection. from my experience, YW's selection is the most comprehensive one. I think the interview performance is crucial.
Mine is a small boy, born in late Oct.

我就有交Profoliol因為我覺得學校要由咁多小朋友over1800選150個學生入學只經過2次interview其實未必可了解妳個小朋友,還有interview時妳孩子的情緒及心情亦會影響, 如老師/校長有睇Profoil可能有機會對妳個小朋友有DD印象的, 而且妳亦可作較詳細介紹一吓妳個仔有否參與一些比賽, 義工活動等等..., 我想這些會有幫助

對以上問題，我有以下回應。
我的兒子是大仔，我的兒子的幼稚園同學(同考上英華)是細仔。我的兒子和他的同學，一個是獨子，一個是有兄弟姊妹的。
所以暫時未能成為正選，原因只有一個，就是你的兒子不是她的第一選擇(一山還有一山高)！但不要失望，只要是on waiting list，是有機會的。

I can only answer my case for your information. My son is a small boy. Born towards the end of the year. I know some small boys also have been shortlised for the final round. Agreed with some BK mums mentioned here that the interviews are very comprehensive. My son has been asked so many questions in the final round of the interview. Principal Lam will study your portfolio again before asking you to go into the interview room. My feeling is: she doesn't care about the age of your child but she has her own set of requirements on the right candidates. Therefore, her questions during the interviews can lead her to get the answer. I gave up five offers and took Ying Wah. Hopefully, I won't pick it wrong.

Ying Wah is calling the waiting list after the registration. Good luck to those who want their sons to study at this school.
