I am new to HKPS and my daughter just jump in this yr. Just want to say hi to all and hope to know more from you(or sharing with you) regarding HKPS no matter good or bad.... thks.

My son is not from HK preschool.  We must keep in touch because we both have a child from preschool and a child from Ying Wa!

However, my son will transfer to HKpreschool next week because I like here better.

Parents of NC,

Do you use the EVI platform?  I only started this week (didn't have time/patient because I have 3 children).  My daughter enjoys her school life a lot.

May I know the Chinese Lyrics of the school song?  My daughter speaks English before she come to this school, so she has a little trouble in singing the songs.

My daughter asks me to online EVI every night for about 30 mins. She enjoy the story but not so interest on phonics part.

I havent and was it open to all parents? I am interested to know more about that kind of info and I remember I saw a notice inside the school board telling us the previous primary school result.

I remember the EVI website but is it suggested by the HKPS. I almost forget to let my daughter play with it......hee hee...

Regarding Chinese Lyrics of the school song, my daughter can sing but I just know the beginning is Cantonese and the last sentence is Mandarin(I am also not too sure)... so maybe not too easy to sing for the first few times. Let him sing more...

I also heard my daughter sings the song with Cantonese for the first few sentence and ending with Mandarin like "老師愛我又愛你". From last week, I heard she is singing X'mas song like Jingle bell.

My girl's cantonese is terrible...I heard the school song on the picnic day because they sang on the way to the farm.
It's something like

樂基幼稚園? ?在一起,
樂基幼稚園教學用遊戲,
天天笑, 哈哈哈,
老師愛我我愛你,

I still can't figure out the first line!

The English version is on the pink book so that's fine.

Yeah, she sang Jingle bell and We wish you're merry christmas also. I guess they are preparing for the performance for the buffet but we will not join.

my girl loves the school and I'm glad that her brother switched to this school also.

I learnt from a K2 mother about that some parents will change from Anglo-Chinese to International from K2. Apart from parents wish, the school will also consider the kid's ability.

I had already replied to school that will keep on Anglo-Chinese stream in K2.

Thks for your info and we dont know whether the current K1 teachers will follow the kids when they will be in K2. It may be good to the kids.

I think both English and Chinese story book are randomly allocate to the kids. But, Chinese one is using the same publisher series, so it seems more consistent on the level. But, for English story book is using different publishers' series, so the content and level are much vary.

My daughter has a good comment from Chinese teacher but always needs to repeat reading the English one.

Oh, I got the opposite feeling upto now. The English story book seems coming from the same publisher(all about Kipper and his family) but Chinese one are not the same series. BTW, do you know whether the school wants the kids to tell them the meaning of the story(which is more simple) or just reading the words or sentences one by one(which is more difficult). Are your kid the first yr in HKPS?

But for the English one, usually only 1-2 words on each page or even in whole story like "Look", so I will create a sentence to her. As she is not so understand in English and cannot remember the whole sentence. English teacher comment is need to repeat reading and advise her to say more vocabularies about the story.

For my daughter, I guess she can tell the Chiness story but not reading it every word, I think she is more in Cantonese way about telling it....

To all parents, we asked my daughter's Chinese teacher(Ms Sum) about those Chinese story books and she told us the school will expect the child can read the Chinese characters one by one when they tell the story. Therefore, just telling the meaning may not be enough.....

BTW, she got no comments about the English story books requirement.

We have taken Jazz and "Music for early learning" but not your 2.

She is also AM and it is quite easy for us to meet.

How will he come to school?

We are not close to the school and so my daughter need to take school bus.

GREAT ! yr daughter also in AM sesson. WE may meet in school some time.
I will be the one to bring my son to school everyday coz I'm free in the morning. I don't trust the maid. They always on the phone in street. It's dangerous if I just let my son go with her alone.

My son study in GC1 am International class. His name is Hang Hang.  He also take the interest class on Sat.
He sings the Chinese and English songs somethimes. But apart from this, I really don't know what he do in school.
Any plan for which kind of primary school?  I've no idea up till now.
