我決定比仔仔讀, 不過我有好多野唔係太清楚, 如果有現任家長睇到呢個TOPIC, 可唔可以解答下呢?

1. 每年雜費大約多少?
2. 課外活動種類多嗎? 我仔仔係幼稚園學緊跆拳, 數學同埋敲擊, 貴校有冇咁上下既野學呢?
3. 他日細佬妹去考, 學校有冇保証就讀學生既細佬妹可以必入2ND IN呢? (我知必收就冇可能

)
4. 功課多嗎?
5. 每班人數大約幾多呢?
6. 平時學校活動會要求家長幫手做義工嗎?

希望各位多多指教, 我地新黎既家長真係咩都唔識, 有賴各位幫幫忙, 多謝哂!

而大家子女都係09年小一新生既家長, 希望大家多D發言, 大家交個朋友, 日後互相照應呀

1. 每年雜費大約多少?   I cannot recall the exact amount but I would say it's not much.
I believe some other TSL parents can give you a more comprehensive reply on this.

2. 課外活動種類多嗎? 我仔仔係幼稚園學緊跆拳, 數學同埋敲擊, 貴校有冇咁上下既野學呢?   The school has offered a lot of ECAs for the pupils.  You can go to the school website and click “Activities” and then click “ECA” and you can find a lot of the details there.

3. 他日細佬妹去考, 學校有冇保証就讀學生既細佬妹可以必入2ND IN呢? (我知必收就冇可能 )  No guarantee.  But I think the school will take this point as a minor consideration when there will be some marginal cases.   The main criterion used to choose the successful applicants is still the interview performance.

4. 功課多嗎?  For P.1, I would say about 3 on Monday to Thursday and may be about 4-5 for Friday + weekend.

6. 平時學校活動會要求家長幫手做義工嗎? It depends on individual parent’s preference.  The school will not force/hint the parents to do so.  All are voluntary helpers.

好驚....我家小妹只識英文, 其他野都唔掂...他日考唔到真係頭痕....

I am also very 迷茫 because we don't want to give up the "lucky draw". Besides, TSL is actually quite far away from our home....

你今日去左註冊未呀? 我今朝去左, 咁橋見到d小朋友係操場排哂隊, 佢地好乖喎!

i'm father of 2 as well, but my elder son only in k2 this year.
so i'm going to endure what you have done this year later.....

after i have read all the papers about the result this year and estimating that the competition will be even harder next year....

咁只好等其他家長話我知啦...唔該哂! 雜費? 是否指開學要買書約$1000, 冷氣費唔記得,約$100-200一年, 家教會年費一個家庭$100, student id 同家長pick up card加埋只係幾十元. 訂飯與否自己決定, $15.5一餐, 每日四個餐供選擇. 訂報紙與否是自由決定. 只記得咁多,so far, 好似沒有什麼雜費.

好驚....我家小妹只識英文, 其他野都唔掂...他日考唔到真係頭痕....

  沒有什麼"親子"野做, 除了一個英文project, 你只需要幫手搜集數張家庭與動物圖片.

當然....我都明白唔會, 只係我想睇下有冇d時間去學校參與下, 又可以見下自己小朋友同同學仔既交流, 又可以為學校出分力咋

我地家長好多當學校是一個大家庭, 所以學校有好多義工家長. 就算要返工, 我每年都自發地請一兩次假返學校做義工. 我身邊所認識的在職家長都係!

我住深水步呀! 坐2E巴士都係3個站。
呢個都係我選校重要既指標。因為小朋友坐校車太耐, 浪費時間係校車上面, 咁我情願佢地快D返屋企玩啦!

如果你鐘情TSL, 不如等睇下考唔考到先至決定搬唔搬啦!

we have a primary school on ma wan 基慧小學(馬灣) as well which i have heard that is actually very good primary school.
but it's not an english prim. we will apply as a back up.

我地班同學仔有兩個都抽到基慧呀! 所以自行第一輪都可以試下運氣(佢地好似一個20分, 一個15分)。
但你要唸清楚, 馬灣除左基慧之外, 仲有冇比較熟悉既小學係你都心儀呢?
大角咀應該有兩三間都不錯! 而且中學校網就係油尖旺呢

我唸緊比唔比佢坐校車, 因為佢地回覆我小朋友要7點頭上車, 咁近都咁早...可能只比佢坐放學。我會叫菲傭姐姐送佢返學, 之後返黎再送妹妹返學(妹妹返8:45)

No.2E bus - frequency is around 20 mins @, and schedule is quite erratic, not reliable.

係呀, 我都有唸過呢個問題, 不過我打算試下同時間班次, 再決定會唔會比仔仔坐校車。萬一miss左班車, 都可以坐的士, 應該20蚊以內。

TSL的中文並不如外界說的弱, 反而老師的教學方法很能吸引學生. 他們的耐心和愛心和傳統學校的嚴厲不可並提.

我當日都係咁祈禱, 求天父為小兒安排適合既學校。同時有平安及智慧, 去作決定。
我都好感恩, 天父對我地既恩賜, 好快我同老公都有共識比佢讀tsl而放棄大抽獎(我老公對基督教好反感架, 我只可以一個帶兩個小朋友返教會)

my wife is 天主教. but i'm not...
i remember that we had asked for a derogation from vatican so we were allowed to marry in church......

i will try to ask my wife to pray more before the interviews...

, 但壓力絕不是來自學校

.女女讀得好開心

.大部份老師真係幾好

.P.5了, 女女放學回來還不斷講學校的事, 還有老師跟她的對話, 好開心.

I also include my daughter's schooling in my daily prayer to God.

Could you share with me your experiences / struggles when you choosing school for your son? In particular, I am quite struggle between a Christian school and TSL. I believe the atmosphere and learning environment of a Christian school is different from that of a non-Christian school. How do you deal with this kind of struggle?

I believe TSL is the school I am looking for my girl. She really need the kind of supports and stimulation to be stronger and tougher in characters. Frankly speaking, I don't believe she could pass through the 2 rounds of interviews by herself. Our God is listening to our prayer and grant her the chance. The thing is it is not a Christian school. What's your opinion on this?

哈哈, 我選既自行就係一間基督教學校。未考到tsl之前, 我都係唸宗教呢個問題。但係第二次interview果陣, 我竟然係佢地既課室度見到一兩張金句, 貼左係老師位既燈上面。我都唔知係佢地班主任信主, 定係學校都有宗教。
我同意學生不只要學術上要有一定既standard, 但屬靈生活亦都應該要有。而學校冇的話, 我地就自己帶佢返教會, 平日同佢地祈禱囉....
而讀一間冇宗教學校, 可以呀Q咁唸, 唔洗小朋友背默金句

舊年每星期有一日的recess時有聖經故事聽. 想聽的小朋友可以recess時隨意去的. 這個安排真係好好, 有興趣的, 今年留意下幾時有.

另有book worm 計劃, 小息時如P1小朋友冇野做, 可以去地下樓梯口上hall 的corner位, 有很多圖書, 小朋友可以去看書, 亦有故事ee on duty 聽佢地讀. 讀得多可以有small gift. 告訴小朋友不妨去下.

除了 library, 還有 language kingdom --小朋友的最愛.

我小朋友最期待的當然是開學 principal 在 assembly講故事.
