Yes, my husband is the old boy and I can still remember the excitement when I have my kids' primary schools settled. All parents want to give their kids the best and we're amongst the lucky ones.

The school isn't pushy at all. The teachers in general are very nice and there's a lot of positive reinforcement given to students. My daughter, who is currently in P1, always gets the stickers back home as the reward for being e.g. lining up properly, answering questions right (of which they are very simple questions), spelling the words correctly or be quiet in class. So, girls tend to get easily the self satisfaction and find interest in attending school. My daughter enjoys school very much and I don't see any pressure from her.

As for English, I first expected to be demanding but surprisingly, it wasn't. During the first few weeks in school, girls of P1 are given penmanship homework of writing alphabets (as there's the special MCS handwriting). Same for Maths, doing very simply arithmatic summation and subtraction. For Chinese, fill in the blanks seems most difficult for my daughter as it won't provide any choice of words but I believe she can manage later with more practice. For the time being, I don't see any neccessity of attending tutorial class.

My daughter didn't join any ECA as it is totally optional and the school won't force you to participate anything.

All in all, MCS isn't simply a famous school but a good and caring school.

It's so good that the son goes to LS and daughter goes to MCS. My father and my brother went to LS, girls in my family all went to MCS. However, my husband is not a LS boy, so I have to play the lucky draw game for my son 2 years later....

Good luck and don't worry too much now. Maybe the allocation system changes after 3 years, you'll never know, not even the staff in the ED.

Do you know have any information on school bus and nanny bus? Will the school send the school bus information to parents next year in May or July?
Are you living close by MCS? I am thinking of moving closer to the school but still waiting for the price or rental price to come down.

Sorry that I don't have too much info as we walk to school. I remember that when we go to purchase the new text books at school around Jul/Aug, the school bus company will have the counter set at the same time to register for students who are in need of transportation.

而褓姆車可以在你們的住處多留意一下, 在上學或放學時間, 見到身穿MCS校服的學生乘搭的那輛車,大巴多是校車,而小的多是褓姆車. 遇上便可以上前問褓姆姨姨取卡片.

不然,也可以在放學時間在學校附近找到,他們會將行走路線寫在一個牌上,而將它放在車窗後. 你亦可以乘機觀察他們的運作.

Hello all, I'm so lucky to get the seat with 20 marks. But I know many many unsuccessful even they have 20 marks too. The Education Bureau said that this year was the lowest rate of successful applicants to get the seat in this first stage.

I saw two different colours for summer uniform on the school website. Does it need to make both or either subject to my favour?

Is it different colour means different teams, class or anything else....

Usually order both colours. The school usually asks the pupils to wear blue uniform when it is Rosary week or when there is certain school ceremony. Sometimes teachers may ask some pupils to wear orange dress when performing.
It's nice to have blue and orange summer uniforms that made the school campus filled with colours.

No ah, I do not live close by MCS. I think I will leave home for MCS at around 2 pm. The tailors will be there from 2 to 5 pm ma.
It's all right to wear kinder school uniform. I would like my girl to wear school uniform to meet the tailors. I think it's easier for tailors to get measurement based on current school uniform.

My daughter finish her school at 3:30pm, so I may help her to apply early leave. But her school is close to MCS, so it should be ok.
After measure the new uniform, and then she needs to go to ballet class at KLN Bay, so rush.

Hope my daughter like her P1 school, because she just always passed by the school.
Everyday need to pass by the MCS and then go to her K3 school. Never get in and visit the school.
Hope all the daughter like to study there and enjoy.

WOW, got a few more mums joining this forum. Congratulations to those mums who can get a seat finally, this "lucky draw" is really a painful process, it's a torture for the parents to wait for the result to be annouced!! I will take my daughter to the school today to get her uniform done, hope to see some of you there.:D

Oh, no wonder no response from you for the last couple of days. Maybe the pm is short short day. Doesn't matter la. How did it go at the school uniform tailoring today? I think it's quite all right. I bought a lot of stuffs at the PTA stand... hahaha... the Maryknoller kind of school spirit thing that made me spend money .. hee...

Residency in same 41 school net or cross district?
Some old girls cannot get their daughters in MCS in the 2nd round. They are very upset and anxious now.

因為我心急, 所以註冊第一日就去咗la, 雖然要去兩次, 但都係開心嘅 :)
你地選了甚麼顏色校褸? 深啡色come污糟, 但我女鍾意杏色, 所以買咗杏色
我都參加了PTA, 仲想買d souvenir, 但女女唔係好鍾意 (佢淨係鍾意hello kitty 同公主), 所以最後冇買

我尋日去到, 阿女都好開心, 買咗好多嘢, 瑪利諾公仔，公仔冬季校服，頭飾，膠folder等．阿女尋日已幫公仔換咗幾次衫，　夜晚仲攬住個瑪利諾公仔一齊瞓添．．．

尋日真係有啲亂, 我只是同我的女兒做左校服同報左校車就走了, 都無到家教會的counter, 想問下佢地會有什麼activities? 是否每年要比600 annual　ｆｅｅ？

係每年$100, 6年$600, 一次過交晒, 如果中途退學就會按年refund

咁請問你嘅souvenir 係咪shoes bag，我第一次去到見都仲有存貨，但我買咗好多嘢又做校服，已經得番$3xx，唔夠俾membership fee，打電話叫老公「接濟」

，但第二次入會時已經冇貨，得番毛巾box set，有D失望，早知做校服時唔俾full paid.

我昨天係 PTA counter 後面都見到，但唔係貨品，係on duty 同學用緊嘅書包，不過我問過兩位 PTA 嘅家長，她們都話E+已經不再發售，因為有家長反影唔係幾好用，又重，現在的同學，都係市面買書包。

張通告好似話可以著黑or白鞋, 運動鞋就白色. 如我理解有錯, 請更正. thx

我比左$200個女去 pta自己買野, 而我就去校車部. 原來大部份人都唔係41區, 遠至青衣, 將軍澳都好普遍. 個女返黎話d姨姨話唔可以小朋友比錢. 我叫佢再去一次話自己識比錢, 佢就買左一個公仔同一個頭飾返黎. 我話造完校服再去睇下, 佢叫我唔好洗咁多錢.

又好難怪, 大家家長都唔知點做好, 又好多疑問??....個staff 明明serve 緊我, 人地問得2問, 佢幫咗第2個家長落單, 忘記咗我在等緊.....:tongue:
