my daughter is accepted by True Light....but in case next monday, she was accepted by spss...then i have to make decision.....

also my daughter is accept by st paul convent but wait list.....i don't know whehter i have chance too

my best choice is St paul convent...becoz it is closer to home

SPSS over True Light. But...why you said your daughter was accepted by St. Paul's convent, they opened for interview already??? Or she is the student of its kindergarten???

no, st paul convent accept any incoming application at anytime......

they don't open for interview.....
you can send a letter anytime you want,

then they will send you a time for interview (if they have seats)

you never know...just like a lucky draw

That's my situation too. My daughter just accepted by True Light, and we've chose SPSS in 1st round.

I called St.Paul's Covent before. They said I should send the application in 2009. When did you send the letter? When do they call you for interview?

Thanks avbee for the information, indeed I also sent the letter requesting for interview, however, they only asked me to write to them again in 2009 without putting me on the waiting list.

Could you state more reasons behind? Why you suggested to choose St. Paul (Happy Valley) instead of True Light (Hong Kong)?

actually i'm a lazy mother, for me, coz i have some friends study in this school and heard about this school is quite good for everything, so i only apply this one.

本校由沙爾德聖保祿女修會於一九二七年創校，現時屬於政府津貼女子小學。全校共開設
二十四班，每級四班；分上午班(二、四、六年級)及下午班(一、三、五年級)。各級以平均程度
編班；上、下午班行政與教學模式統一。聖保祿中學為本校直屬中學。

Actually both SPS and True Light are Chinese primary schools.  But both their secondary schools are English.
Of course, SPC is an English through train school and its reputation is much better and academic standard definitely much higher due to the more difficult syllabus.  So, I think it all depends on the ability of your child and how much money, time and effort you are willing to pay.  As far as I know, many SPC parents hire private tutors for their children since primary 1.  Also, the class size of SPC convent is large (more than 40 in a class), so if your child cannot catch up, no one will help except the parents themselves.  Every year, there are girls leaving SPC because they can't catch up.

True Light is easier in terms of tests but there are three tests and exams every year.  It means that students there have to work hard and work regularly too (unlike MSS, there is really not much homework in P.1, 2).  The children of TL are polite and well-behaved too.  So, academic standard may not be everything.  It depends on whether the child is competitive enough and what parents themselves want.

clw_jun係SPPCS小四家長來架，好清楚個情況。我都係SP家長。我地37人一班0者。個别跟唔上既同學，學校都有課前功課輔導。不過你講得無錯，我地真係要用比較多時間，同小朋友一齊勤力讀書，好多默測考。

I've got a few close friends whose daughters study in SPCPS. We share all the time and what I know are told by them. Anyway, thank you for correcting me. But I also teach girls from SPCPS, SPS, MSS, SFC, Sacred Heart, etc. So, what I say are my personal observations and opinions only.
