I want to know too.
Some of my friends said: St Stephen (stanley)'s primary is better than RC primary; but RC secondary is better than St. Stephen's secondary.
Can anyone kindly share if you know more about these two schools? Greatly appreciate for any sharings & comments.

but is it too far away? couple of years ago, I gave up St Stephen. I think for the long term, it would be very tired for my kid to spend long hours in travelling.

RC is, of course, better in terms of location, school fee and even academic achievement.

I think ST Stephen is slightly better than Ramondi in terms of language development. But Ramondi's secondary section is much stronger than ST Stephen's.

Further questions if anyone can help:
(1) Anyone here knows the lang used in lessons for these two schools?
As JustinJustin told us that SSCPC had 3 PTU & 3 Eng - can you kindly tell me what are these subjects using PTU & Eng?
(2) Does anyone know when will the school bus leaves for kids living at Happy Valley for both schools?
Really appreciate if anyone can share these valuable info for me as I tried hard but can't find it on the web.

Basically they use PTH for Chinese, Social & Cultural Studies, and Putonghua classes. The rest, in English. Some teacher may use a bit Cantonese to explain to lower grades, such as Maths & health education.
For Happy Valley, since it is the first stop, the school bus departs at around 6:50a.m. and it will return home faster, around 3:45pm.

BTW, I've heard there're more teachers at St. Stephen (Stanley), is it true? And they've two class teachers per class, is it true?
Location is really a big obstacle, will the kids be too tired after school? And will they need to withdraw many extra-curricular activities?
Really sorry for too much questions to ask about, but I really would like to know more. Many thanks to anyone who can help.

To my understanding SSCPS have only one teacher per class of some 30 students.
For "more teacher" i think it refer to more NET since they have 9 of them for 18 classes (3 x 6 grade) so it is pretty more than par and they have enough number of NET to teach English and one or two other subjects for each class.
For distance it is really a problem for students from Kowloon and NT side. This school has a very attractive ECA programme and students were very eager to take part of it after school. For example my girl has to stay longer at school for a choir and two session of symphonic band practises so it make it three days a week. Now the school bus can take good care of them but these bus do not go across the harbour. So you have to make special arrangement for these three nights if you are living in Kowloon or NT. It is not too easy for other nanny bus to pick them up at two different time of a day.

Yes, RC is a traditional one and therefore not much to say.
The major difference between the two is in English. St Stephen's English is taught by Native English Teacher. Math and Science are also completely taught in English. The English standard is at least 1 year higher than RC.
SSPCS has reading session every day where every student is required to read story book (English / Chinese on alternate week). This really help in improving their language skill. RC does not emphasis the important of reading.
Honestly, do not expect too much from the teachers. If your child is average, then you don't have any problem. Otherwise, you must be ready to help the kid personally.
Other things to note:
- RC is moved to Wanchai this year so the school Net is changed.
- Not a big amount compared to the school fee but still surprised me. The lunch in SSCPS is average approx HK$7000 a year (almost double compared to RC).
- The school bus is over HK$1000 per month in most areas and if you child will participate in ECA, an additional HK$1000 is required per semester.
- SSCPS P6 student are required to live in dorm (compulsory)
Chinese is the most difficult subject - I think most of the parent will agree with this if you have children in Primary or Secondary school. I think the the standard is both school is about the same. But the point is in RC, 80% of Math and 50% of Science are taught in Chinese. Naturally, the student will gain more explosure in Chinese
Why I enroll my sons in different school -
My younger son's English skill is a lot better than Chinese. He already finished reading the whole Harry Potter series in P2. RC is obviously not suitable for him.

This is another thing to consider. St Stephen secondary is a DSS school starting this year. The school fee is approx HK$50,000 per year (same as primary)

I would like to ask your opinion, does a kid's character has much impact between the 2 schools?
My boy is a bit quiet & shy, some said RC is better for him; but some advise to go to SSCPS such that he can be grow-up in more active.
And I suppose SSCPS kids are not that naughty, as people scared me about they may learn bad easily in boarding school.
Sorry for making such stupid comments, but that's really frsutrated me months already.

I have no idea who will give up. My friend told me , her daughter's classmate 2-3 accepted the offer from SSCPC. To my surprise, SSCPC haven't accepted my friend's daughter (at this moment), others 全中, 當然去SPCC.

終於，尋日同個friend去咗SSCPS交留位費。雖然嚟緊半年要預備搬屋，不過我相信是值得。希望小女可以在良好的語文環境下長大，更可於六年級的boarding programme培養出獨立的處事態度。 另SSCPS的學生家長比我的感覺都好helpful.
感覺上高主教是傳統的天主教學校。對其認識不多，所以冇特別分享。
