Hi all,

My daughter is lucky enough to get accepted, do you have any comment about Good Hope? Is it good / bad? Academic? Morale? Sports? Music? etc???

Congratulation! I believed GH is a good school without any doubt but must keep closly with yr girl's acadamic studies & home work. (Same case as other traditional school).

But if you compare with DGS. DGS is better offcourse.

thank you Siman, do you mean they have a lot of homework and exams????

is it an English Primary School or Chinese one, I saw on the Govt web page that they use Chinese as teaching medium, but on their own website, they only mentioned their Secondary School is an English School....

Do you know about Primary School?

don't give up, from previous experience there are high chance getting in GH in the next round coz lots of parents will give up the positions after receiving other offers

As I know, GH primary is not an English Primary School. But secondary school is an English Secondary (all subject using English book except Chinese).

My girl also accepted by GH P1 for Sept 2009, tomorrow morning has to go to register first. I have not decide if my girl will study GH or not as I want to wait for 24 NOV result first.

What is yr choice at Gov't 1st round? My choice St. Rose.

Don't worry, last year my friend's daughter was also in waiting list and they call my friend in end July to accept her girl for primary one.

Many parents will give up GH's space when other better school or gov't result 1st choice primary accepted their girls.

Also it is a very big chance to get in this year on waiting list due to below reason.

1) 2003 SARS kids--lowest birth rate among these years.
2. Bad economic situation.(more parents will choose free education for their kids)

What you need to do is just don't miss any call.

Although good hope is not a english medium langage school posted in the web of Education Department, the english langauge requirement is very very demanding.

請問德望有冇開始著重普通話? 中文是否用普通話教?
如德望同SFA 或九龍塘小學比, 那間課程同學生表現好些?

I also want to wait for the Govt Subsidised school, my choice in round 1 is St. Mary. As you said, economy is not so good now, paying $3xxxx to $4xxxx a month is not easy (may be it is not much for some family, but it is not a small amount for us), and also have to pay for the extra-curricular activities, music, sport, school bus, snacks, tutortial, etc.....adding all these up would be a fortune $$$$$$$$$

I also want to know if this school use Cantanese or Mandarine to teach chinese, any one has a clue?

我同意....SFA 又辛苦, 又冇一條龍中學, 考得唔好都咪話唔心, 如果每日放工仲要同個女為的功課而抗戰, 真係命都短幾年.........都係句, 我仲未收到SFA信, 自己係道亂"UP"一通...........唉.......吃不到的葡萄真係酸的???!!!

我揀GH,我當然知GH唔慌容易得去邊,但我相信會好過SFA,我唔想個女怕左讀書,唔想為讀書而讀書,我係全職媽咪可以有好多時間教佢,但唔想每日除左功課同溫書就咩時間都無哂比個女,最多有時間米自己教多D,我宜家都係咁教我個女野,基本上我宜家係教緊佢1,2年級個D野,而佢都吸收到,可能因為慢慢學唔駛趕

Do you know the reason? I heard that some GH students had changed to MCS. So, it is not the academic that counts.

不是! 除了MCS, GH有成功插去HY, 07年P.2 HY 收左2個GH, 其中一個最後去左MCS (佢考2間,2間都收呢!)

今天去GH交留位費, 有家長問明年是否轉全日?是否轉新校舍? 老師答:唔知! 但有告訴家長排隊時的其中一張米白色膠椅是新校舍時學生專用.如果明年不會轉全日, 各位會選GH嗎?

這個不是因果關系. 因為插班位MCS (今年10個) 比協恩多,所以插班入MCS 比協恩容易. 而這10個位中,聽說GH已沾了5個.
