i'm afraid York's interview is definitely NOT a valid reference for SC's interview.

You may refer to some previous threads on some questions asked in previous year for SC's interview.

i did it this morning.
the teacher ask my girl the following questions(in cantonese):
1. what's your name?
2. how old are you?
3. who bring you here?
and then, three colours to match, six animals to match and a picture (in the park) to show to my girl and ask her some questions about the picture.
after that, ask me why i choose this school, that's it.
before we leave, the teacher gave a sticker to my girl.

我小朋友IN既時候個老師重有問佢"你個口向邊度呀可唔可以指俾我睇呀?"指完之後就問佢"咁口口有咩用呀?"
我上年有同我小朋友IN過, 我覺得今年問得淺左同問少左問題, 唔知係咪今年多人報既原因?

英文嗰part同bobbi講一樣.
PTH嗰part:
1.指住媽咪問佢係邊個, 老師會提示係咪爸爸定媽媽.
2.介紹五官, 然後叫小朋友指出.
3. 一路攞個橙出嚟, 一路用普通話介紹, 之後係蘋果同香蕉. 介紹完後, 問返小朋友邊樣係香蕉同蘋果.
3. 今次攞花, 車同書, 叫小朋友攞花比老師, 然後攞書比媽咪.
4. 問家長小朋友平常有無接觸PTH, 點樣協助佢學PTH.

This part is conducted by a Mandarin teacher. The parent has to answer in Mandarin. Please remember to brush up on your Mandarin before the interview.

Last year, I did so bad on this part. My Mandarin is really poor. SC offered my kid a spot in the English / Cantonese class instead. I then wrote three letters to SC begging. They changed me to the English / Mandarin class at the end. I felt so lucky.

Dear Gifthoney,

My daughter didn't perform well at the Mandarin interview.  The Mandarin teacher taught her a few words in Mardarin on the spot and asked her to repeat them and she didn't say anything.  Then she asked her to point to a few fruits and she only got one right.

However, she did very well on the English interview.  She was cheerful and smiling and answered all the questions, except one.  The teacher showed her a plastic mango and asked her what it is.  My daughter didn't know what it is and didn't say anything.  So I said, "Oh we just came back from Canada (which is true) and we don't have mangos there"

I was a bit worried at first that we might get rejected because my friend's daughter interviewed SC two years before me.  My friend is an university professor (meaning good family background). The girl only answered one question wrong and didn't get an offer.  Because of my friend's experience, I always think that SC is really hard to get into.

我女女今日都IN左.... 我IN 廣東話同mandarin...

唉..女女等好耐先入到去, 要係出面企一路排隊...這安排真的很不好呀... 她已經很累... 又無咩玩... 玩玩具個part比隔離小朋友創玩具, 佢跟住自保式的襟住.. 不肯比...

跟住in 廣東話,,都肯答.. 不過無任何笑容.... in 普通話仲衰... 唔肯講...又唔肯指nose.....

我看都凍過水...好失望...interview真係好睇小朋友的心情, 佢平日幾好都無用。

我個仔今日都in咗，唉係in正佢平時瞓梗覺既時間，根本佢入到去玩玩具o個part已係眼瞓，一見到啲積木就掃晒落地，到之後單對單in時，問佢叫咩名呢啲間間都問既問題，佢都唔答，剩係有做啲眼耳口既答案等等，我睇都係冇咁好運會考到

mean ....y? Just one parent can enter into the school for interview. Other parents are disallowed to stay INSIDE school.....many parents stay on the opposite side of the school....Very very mean
inconsiderate=Children are disallowed to play before interview...never give time to warm up
impatient=teachers rushed to ask questions ..skip after 5-10 secs for no response or dear air

anthony, i agreed with u. My kids also didnt warm up at all. Actually, i knew he can get the answer right, but he just didnt say anything

. In contrast to york's interview, they let them played for a while first and also, the interview was more interesting as there were toys, big pics etc, and kids were like that. I am not saying which school is better that the other. May be SC knows it is famous and didnt put much passion on interviewing children's ture character. As we all know, the questions are the same every yr.

I also got interviewed at BU's kinder. They used another approach i guess. They had detailed discussion with parents on every aspect and philiosphy and i feel good.

其實ST CAT 係我同老公的FIRST CHOICE...不過今日囡囡真係冇MOOD...佢不停咁喊....我都好唔好意思驚影響到其他的小朋友....老師最後都係問佢幾條問題....我真係有少少失望...聽日IN埋KV 同CREATIVE..希望佢唔會喊啦...唔知係咪真係細囡會比大仔OR囡差少少的呢...不過唔緊要啦...其實佢依家讀O個間PN都唔錯的.....加上YORK都收左佢AM CLASS....都係想同你O地SHARE 下...

一去到唔駛等就入左去大房, 等夠6個小朋友就上去遊戲房, 3個咁入去
入到去老c會叫下小朋友o既名, 睇佢地有冇反應, 之後就叫佢地玩, 會叫佢地幫手執野咁
之後去interview room, 問左
叫咩名
幾多歲
問我係邊個(媽媽)
邊度係咀咀, 咀咀用黎做乜
配對colour, 有3粒lego分別紅, 黃, 藍色, 要放返o係同色的紙上, 老c有問到係咩色
有一幅圖係公園黎, 老c問呢度係邊度, 叫佢指圖入面邊個係伯伯, 指住隻9問佢係乜
6張圖片card, 係動物黎, 另外有一張大card有齊所有動物, 咁要將o個6張card分別放o係圖上面一樣的card上
問我點解要揀st cat
臨走送sticker, 同埋叫小朋友拍返張椅

York-playing in the playground + headmaster's briefing...open the door let u know the school...final decision is up to u....
BU.... playing in the playground +efficient registration process...no need to queue up or wait in an 'unexpected' location

I wonder children are hard to show their abilities under such 'comfortable' environments.....my god

actually i saw other children perform v good during the interview ..... they can anws all the questions...v polite...active and happy...even sing a song and dancing....

no need to park the car la as only one parent can go with the children...my husband just drive around and wait me out side....also the interview won't last so long...around half an hour only...

Try to manage kids' emotion as calm as possible. They can give response only in calm mood.

我in了york同st cat，in york時已覺得york有啲殘舊，但今日in完st cat之後，覺得佢仲殘，而且啲班房又細，樓梯都幾窄，你哋有冇同感？定係其他班房唔係咁細，因我今日in既part 1 & part 2呢兩間班房都好細，如果一班有15個小朋友，都會有逼既感覺。

其實我個囡今日都有去st. cat面試, 在玩具房時有個老師拿住file對小朋友app.form是哪一個時, 和她講早晨及問咩名, 後來又在form上寫了少少嘢, 不知有冇關係呢? 入到考官面前, 我個講英文名也講埋個姓氏, 這位老師讚她個英文名咁長都講得咁好, 但當老師問她問題時, 我多事插咀問多句女兒, 我的女兒突然面向第二倒話我唔睬妳(指媽媽), 但問圖畫咁多人在邊倒玩, 她唔識答, 但配對全部對, 唔知收唔收她呢? 真係頭痛....., 其實問呢d咁簡單問題每個小朋友都識答啦, 究竟點收生呢?

The first part of interview is the child playing with another children, which can take the high mark in the interview.

我個囡就調反轉, 之前in york, stafford, think都有得玩好開心, 玩完去in比我想像中好好, 而且york stafford都收左了, think就未知, 但今日去到玩都無得玩, 學園又細, 又殘, 又唔比人玩, 一黎就好似打仗咁....成2千幾人in, 我個囡去到玩具房都無心機玩, 又唔係好想彩個老師, 去到part 2 又等得耐, 個老師問咩名, 邊個同佢黎, 配對顏色都答了, 跟住就開始唔開心, 老師問咩都唔彩佢, 成日話要走(好簡單的問題, 之前去in的都係差不多的野都唔肯答)老師都係是但問我2個問題(睇佢個樣都in左成日, 無咩表情(佢心諗你都唔使止意有得收)老師一話可以走了, 我囡即時起身將櫈推好叫bye bye(激死我)...我嬲到爆, 幾想哭...唔開心(因為佢係識而唔答)

U see all questiosns are the same, 'technical' questions are not that important ....dont think they ticked how many questons u ans correct are the selection criteria

我阿仔係in K1 只in 左2間,  對上個次是自己讀個間(n1上k1都要in 下) 第2次就係哩間, 冇咩in k1名校的經驗.

其實一去到見到人山人海, 我覺得都好難有機會, 不過今日好彩我地冇早到,剛剛好. 今日好曬, 如果要係出面等就好慘. 我最 appreciated成個過程都唔算要呆等, 佢地又安排左d vedio 等. 小朋友都鐘意的. 連我個仔都未算大發作.

學校冇我想像中大, 同埋設備唔新, 有d樓梯位, 我自己都差d跌. 可能太有歷史...  不過我覺得中外老師幾 nice, 每一個人都好friendly 打招呼, 成個 openday 的感覺. 感覺小朋友入讀會幾開心.

成個 interview 過程唔係我想像中的深, 其實比我阿仔原校仲淺,  不過我阿仔排隊個陣一時又想出去playgroud 玩, 一時又唔想跟大隊轉課室, 一時又說想去 toliet, 最搞笑 in 完阿仔想去 toliet, 已經轉左出門口.... 其實我覺得佢地要我地係好多間房走來走去都幾煩 (大人都煩啦, 何況哩d唔定的小朋友..).

到interview 時, 英文個 part, 人地問佢野, 我阿仔玩性格唔答, 做阿媽的只有苦笑, 完全冇符.  玩的配對就真係好簡單,  阿仔完全冇問題, 佢最後就要左人地一張貼紙玩.

反而國語老師個 part 詳細小小. 我阿b可能warm up 左就有反應多少少.

我見好多小朋友都幾定, 真係好叻.  自問自己個仔都係唔定的人, interveiw 對佢(同我)都是一件好難(安排)的事. 所以我都覺得阿仔的表現係意料中啦. anyway, 參與下見識過 lo.

未in 的朋友明天加油! 都係一個幾好的學習機會.

我個仔就玩得好Happy！隔離搶玩具，喊到拆天都話之你，繼續砌火車。到in時間，小小怕羞，答名同講歲數都好細聲。所有exercise都做到有有錯。但係見老師都好鍾意佢，因為到下半段自動tidy up，thank you 同goodbye kiss樣樣做齊。雖然有阿Q，但係老師一句I will see you next year，真係唔係都當佢係先。問心句，我都覺得咁大競爭下，五五波喇

St. Cat是否得兩日interview? 唔知點解要噤耐先至有結果呢? 有無人知是老師即場已經決定收唔收or要將幾千個小朋友的分數入晒電腦, 然後選出最高分果幾百個入選?

My son sees the slide for a few times when we pass the playground before getting into the room for interview, I really afraid that he struggles for playing at the playground. So I keep telling him to be a good boy and promise to take him to the park after interview.

At the first part of the interview, my son is assigned to a table of three kids and play the toys. However, my son plays at that table, then he switches to another table, then switches to another table. I am not sure if it is good or bad in the view of the teacher. Luckily, he does not have any argument with other children.

At the second part, he cannot hear the teacher at the beginning because he is a man and my son seldom listens to a man's voice in English, except my husband. Anyway, he can answer most of the questions. However, when the teacher gives him the sticker, he just keeps silent so I reminds him to say "thank you". I think the chance is only 50/50.

Things are really out of our expectation always, when we are talking about a 2-yr old kids, trust these types of interview questions all, or most kids, can handle very well if at home, but most can't do so when in interview environment. My little kid did not speak any words when interviewed with 九龍靈糧堂幼稚園, which is our 1st choiceo but he only said thank you when finish with candies, though have plenty of time for warm up - i have no excuse to blame the school for the arrangement;

while for st cat, as mentioned by many here, no any warm up, but who knows why my kid was in good mood today and can answer almost all questions. It is sometimes not really up to our expectation but "luck". Anyway we are not that particular nervous this time because we got Anfield as back up already.
