The 2nd in. will be started from 17-11-2008. It is stated in DBS's school calendar. Go to the school's website to check.

Based on last year experience, receive call then receive letter. However, I'm not sure whether it is the same for all the 300 candidates. Moreover, DBS may change the way to announce. So don't be so nervous, be relaxed. No matter letter or call, I think next week will be the time to inform 300 candidates. The order is also by the appl. no. i.e. small no. has the 2nd in first. So small no. will be called first. Good Luck to all.

I am also so glad and surprised that my son can get into the second round. My son has a hard time in the kindergarten and teacher thinks he's slow because he's born in Oct. We are relieved now and perhaps attitude of the kid counts more. Our interview will be on 22/11 and we don't have to apply leave also which is very good.

We got the letter for second interview this afternoon! It's really a big surprise!

Good luck to everyone! Don't worry, I believe parents will receive letters early next week if not today. For your info, we didn't receive any call from the school.

According to the info released in admission talk, the second interview will start on Nov. 17.

The school likes to write the letter in this way. But it is strongly advisable for both parents to go with the kid. This is my experience.

I haven't received any letter today. Hope that it will be in my mail box Next Monday.

I live in the Yau Tsim Mong District. I saw from the post office chop that the letter was processed on 7 Nov.

Thanks God! I am also surprised to receive the letter. My No. is 69x and my interview date is 24 Nov. According to the existing DBSPD parents, both the parents and the child will be invited to interview with a panel of teachers and headmistress, etc together. The parents were asked to answer the questions in a specific time frame like 'introducing your child in one minute.' Then the parents were asked to leave the room. The child was left alone with the teachers and he was asked with some questions or to perform some tasks.

Candidates were asked to tell a story from a given story book and build something from given materials last year. I think the interview content must be different this year but they still look for kids with good communication ability, attentiveness and creativity.

I haven't got any call or letter. Just wait or perhaps the game is over.

If my son is offered the 2nd interview by DPBSPD, that will be great, or just leave it at peace. He already tried his best in the 2nd round of interview at Ying Wa and TSL. He is just a small boy, who will be 5 years old 3 weeks later. I don't want to push him a lot.

I haven't received any call. Though I 'll check the letter box tonight, the chance is rather dim. But this ok. This is not the only way for our kids. The best is to find a school that really suits him, build his character and develop his potential to the full. Don't let our kids appointed because of the "letter". This is not the end of the study world. You can try other school or even DBSPD in the future.

之前不是有媽咪講郵戳是11月7日
300封信又不是很大一疊
應該全都是星期五那天寄出的
所以星期六很多人都收到信了

都是九龍塘那邊的KG, 但邊間唔好講啦, 費事俾人誤會我是教職員.

其實我覺得世事很有趣, 我仔仔剛剛失意於SPCC, 而我最喜歡的CKY則到今天還未有2nd in.的機會, 反而以平常心去面對的卻仲有機會在'爭扎', 當中神是一定有安排的. 其實我覺得阿仔他已超額完成給我了. 起碼他在這麼激烈的競爭當中也可有點成績, 所以如果最後一間都考唔到我都應承了太太唔會唔開心.

我覺得你唔需要咁介意, 好多時你都會聽到人地話d學校揀小朋友係睇佢係咪住豪宅,係咪讀名幼稚園,係咪有錢人,父母係咪專業人士,小朋友係咪大仔.... 完全抹煞o左小朋友o既資質同努力, 我覺得咁樣對呢d小朋友好唔公平... 不過呢d都係人之常情, 因為個個父母都覺得自己個小朋友好叻, 冇理由唔夠人掙, 唯有搵d理由等自己舒服d咁解嗻~~ 你都唔好咁唔開心o勒!! 祝你o既小朋友入到心儀學校啦!!

Don't feel upset about those comment. Maybe for some parents, they can't face the reality only. Even though I haven't received any letters from DBS, I wish you all can enter to your dream school! You all should be proud of your sons and no need to bother about what other people said.

我也覺得是
每個學校收生標準根本很難定論
無論如何我們都要肯定我們的孩子
因為經過這一輪
孩子又長大了不少
你們不覺得嗎
起碼我很以兒子為榮\\

也恭喜300個入圍的小朋友
因為第二關也很不容易 1/2的機會
加油囉~
能夠入圍都是最棒的

面試~是種很主觀的方式
短短的幾分鐘要論孩子的前程根本不公平
所以別為難孩子也別為難入選的爸媽
況且孩子根本搞不清楚哪一個小學是叫做好~哪一個叫做差
那只是我們大人的論調罷了

根據我囝囝所講，在1st Interview時，老師曾交一幅圖畫給他看，之後反轉幅畫，跟住再用電腦播一套卡通片給囝囝看，看完之後，老師便問了兩條有關該卡通的問題，囝囝答完之後，老師又再問番有關該幅圖畫的問題！大人當然明白老師會稍後問有關該圖畫內的問題，但一個5歲的小朋友，又那會明白個中的玄機，我囝囝話係一幅有關遊樂場的圖畫，但老師最後問佢有幾多人在遊樂場騎木馬，我囝囝當時答老師唔記得，我聽後都知道這條是最致命的題目，阿囝唔識答，再加上又唔係有哥哥曾在DBS讀，兼且又無宗教分，我估佢都Out咗九成，果然，今日都無信收到，Game is over！Anyway,我都想讚讚有份2nd Interview的小朋友，你地一定好Smart，尤其係好似我咁，一啲 Extra分都無嘅家長，你地嘅囝囝一定好醒，原因我已經覺得我個囝嘅Interview表現好勁，但DBS最後都衰咗！我估DBS係選擇觀察力強，記性好的小朋友，So Good Luck to you all！

囝囝int完常常不會告訴我int的內容, 只說好唔好玩, 我亦不會太追問! 不過, 睇完你所講的, 才知道原來囝囝經歷了這些情節!!!　

很幸運地,囝囝入選為最後300佳麗．我們沒有舊生分，沒有宗教分，不是專業人士，也不是住豪宅．只是普通人一名．

好可能2nd int 只是陪跑！

雖然我囝囝被Out咗，但根據我啲Friend講，2nd Int首先會見父母（同囝囝一齊入房），要你兩公婆講吓個仔嘅優點同缺點（或強項同弱項），有限時，唔會俾你表現，之後好快父母就要離開房間响出面等，而小朋友就繼續响入面面試，問乜就未收到風！

好似用不多於一分鐘時間作介紹！一般媽咪都會搶答，原因通常她們都準備好，其實當時老師望住邊個，佢就想邊個答，所以爸爸最好準備一下，與及介紹後引申的問題！

I think it is only fair for the parents here to ask questions limited to procedural matters. Anything that goes beyond it would seem unfair to the kids who have been interviewed already but did not have the benefits of such other "insights".

By asking "那是否不需用一分鐘介紹小朋友?", it looks like that you are trying to gauge the type of questions being asked.

我有以上疑問, 是由於以往家長在BK提到”一分鐘自述”這環節, 而今年家長提到只需回答兩條問題, 才有此疑問吧了. 另外, 又有家長提到她沒有準備，所以答得很差, 才擔心學校是否問得很tricky. 若果學校問關於小朋友的問題,應該不至於答得很差吧!

考完後昨晚都睡得不好, 常想著in的情景, 可能是太想個仔入到了, 好難放低, 現在的感覺是幻得幻失, 感覺痛苦!

Totally agree with you. I kept thinking about the whole setting yesterday. I doubt anybody can express themselves very well with this setting and tense atmosphere. It was definitely worse than my job interview! 1 minute to finish my answer to her difficult question including the thinking time was just too hard for me. The woman in the middle kept flipping my son's portfolio when I was answering...I think she can't find either my answer or the portfolio very interesting.

We are definitely out but feel OK because I never thought my son could get into the 2nd round anyway. My husband and I are still very happy with him.

Yes, the woman sitting in the middle was a bit too cool and just concentrate on the profoilio, she just gave one little gance on me and my husband. Meanwhile, the interview was very short, denfinialy less than 10 mis.

I feel that my son will not be selected.

Frankly, I really never thought that my son would be so lucky to be able to get into the 2nd round ... there are too many smart kids out there.

That's why we are never too nervous during the entire process.  Surely DBS is our 1st preference, but it always looks to me to be too far a dream to reach.

I guess my son performed ok, I rather think that we (parents) did not perform as well as he did.  The only concern I had was that my son whispered 2 words to me when dad was talking.  Not sure if the interviewers would think that it is too impolite.  My son was simply too excited and happy to see dad talking and hence his whispering to me.

Apart from the headmistress, the other 2 interviewers look quite stern.  But I guess they are not soo intimidating when they talk ...  it is just the way they look.

I guess our sons have made their best shot.  Whatever it is, what is done is done.  It is the past now.  Don't think too much over our son's or our "mistakes".  You never know what the interviewers are looking for in our son or us.  I think it is the best time to relax with our son and have some more fun after the series of interviews.

Don't think too much.  If you never expect too high, you can let go of those worrying thoughts easily and you will feel extra happy when your son is offered a place in mid Dec.  You will be flying off the roof ... at least I will be :)

但係我interview果日, 就係姓張果位男校長坐中間, 一路看阿囝個profile一路問我地問題, 兩位女仕完全無出過一句聲, 只係負責計時. 當我地出咗去之後, 阿囝就話全程都係個副校長問佢問題, 不過, 我地嘅機會好微, 因為我和hubby都好緊張, 答得好差, 反而阿囝仲'淡定'. 無論今次結果如何, 囝囝已經最得非常好
