我打過電話去問, 佢話睇番張面試証, 我睇番係1月尾.
不過有人話比我聽可能11月都會開始發信. 請大家如果有offer, 上黎報下料. 等我有個心理準備.
我都係住九龍, 我好心移呢間學校. 我好想囝囝入讀.
你會唔會為佐囝囝搬屋.

My friends said the school will call the waiting list again in July, because a lot of students will give up their places. It is not possible for many family moving to Stanley, because of the traffic problem.
It's most difficult for the working mum.
I won't consider of moving to Stanley, so the traffic time ....

I think it's too long to wait for the results. Hopefully my daughter has all other schools' positive results already.

I think it's a stupid arrangement if Jan 2009, most parents can't wait this long, already paid many other schools' registration by then.

I think the reception is rude, why you can tell me the date, tell me to read it myself. RUDE in my opinion.

Also, my students have friends who attend here, they say it's ok, not superb, ok. It's VERY far away... so will not consider even if they send me acceptance letter.

My friends' parents even said, this school is NOT good for Girls... esp for boarding... you know what I mean !?!?!

but I have friends who say that's why they LIKE the school because of the boarding programme!

Anyhow, not for us. will not choose this school even if accepted.

just my opinion.

我地會搬, 不過唔會係赤柱, 你有無睇過佢既校車路線, 我覺得只要係鰂魚涌線就ok, 如太古, 柴灣等等, 人地話車程大約半個鐘, 我覺得可以接受. 而且值得既, 因為我覺得個校舍好好, 空氣又好. 都香港黎講, 都算係一間 dream school.

Pianokc, 個reception其實都答得好有禮貌. 不過我都覺得要等太耐先有結果, 如果佢真係1月話收我囝囝, 我都會放棄依家得佐個間. 因為我覺得囝囝比較適合St Stephen. 小學最少要讀6年, 如果佢開心, 我就會安心晒.
寄宿問題, 我都有唸過, 不過in個日問過o的student helpers, 佢地覺得好好, 真係學到獨立. 我都希望小朋友唔好太倚賴父母.

只是個人意見. 大家分享下啦.

我囝囝幾年前考過，學校應會較早發信給獲取錄的學生。

我囡囡今年都有考，佢話中、英、普都有問，全都是很簡單的問題。我問過帶我哋參觀的六年級學生，佢哋話好喜歡寄宿，學校有每日時間表俾佢哋跟住做，由康怡搭校車返學約要45分鐘。

但最近聽個朋友講，佢囝囝間學校(出名男校)有個同學好曳，家長又唔合作，唔肯管教，校長就勸家長轉校，話可以推薦佢入赤柱聖士提反，所以我朋友話呢間學校可能有啲比較難處理的學生，叫我諗清楚，揾多啲資料先，因為又遠學費又貴，你哋點睇呢？

From Hong Yee to School, 7:15am get on the school bus , school starts at 8:20am. After school, bus takes a little bit longer time around 1hour plus to go home. From City Garden to school, 7:25am.

I must thank you for all these comments about RUDE, stupid, NOT superb, and NOT good for girls in boarding programme through your students's friends' friends experience, and these "disadvantages" are there for years, that means my kid has at least one less competition this year.

In order to give your statement even stronger support, all applicants should know that it is going to have a rise in tuition fee next year, hearsay.

Last year, I already had received the offer by now, the dates on both the offer letter and on the envelope were 30 Oct 2007. Registration deadline was one day after releasing the results for discretionary places of aided and government schools.

其實1月至有結果都幾好,因為都要成$6,000留位費,如果佢太早有結果咁你比唔比錢留?比左錢後有一間你心儀的學校收你咁米無所$6,000?有錢都唔係咁浪費掛

,佢地咁遲比結果可能都係想D家長sure會讀佢地學校,所以我個人覺得1月至有結果都幾好,因為有幾間都成11,12至有結果,例如DGS都要12月,如果DGS收我個女我就唔去聖士提反,咁就唔駛比$6,000留位

. 至於可能佢地有D難攪學生我就認為間間學校都會有D突別學生,幾有名的學校都有,況且佢地學校的名聲不嬲唔差,所以我唔擔心

Horrible, all comments are negative. Still remember a typical TV news report in this summer after announced results of the Central Allocation. "小一派位結果於日前公佈，電視記者訪問了一些家長與小朋友，其中一位小朋友當知道自己獲派理想小學後對記者說︰「很開心，因為不用入讀垃圾學校！」..." Hope your kid will rejected by St. Stephen's College then he doesn't say I don't wanna study those stupid and rude school...bra bra bra.

Dear All St Stephen's supporters,

I apologize for my inappropriate choice of words.
I retract "stupid" .... however, honestly, I am not a big fan of this school, I just applied for my daughter for "backup." It's too far for us, and it's definitely not my top 5 choices in choosing a primary school for my daughter.

However, I believe if you are waiting for St stephen's acceptance, and it's your 1st choice, of course Jan isn't too late, even June 2009... you would wait right?

Just my personal opinion, Jan 2009 is way too long to wait... all other schools would have asked for registration already.... if I wait until Jan 2009, I might as well wait for big lottery too.
Why the heartache, painful journey of preparing all this interviews since June and portfolio...etc.
We really want settle everything before Dec. I can hardly sleep and rest properly until then.

So yes, even if accepted, my daughter won't go there. Yes, one less competitor.

Agreed. If I do not like the school, I won't waste time to interview and write bad comments on the school. Each school has it's own fans and no need to say such words...

I am entitled to my opinions here as much as you all. I think Jan is too late. That's MY opinion.

I think the staff was rude to my question. That is MY opinion as well.

Negative comments about a school, well, I think it's as valid as positive ones.

I don't think attacking a person is exactly correct either.

Like I said, I apologize for some inappropriate words, but I don't apologize for what I said regarding the school in general.

The interview was poorly arranged during our time slot, no one brought us around the school as others wrote, and the teacher who received us told me they accept portfolio when I asked whether to hand in or not, but no one took is from us until at the end, before we left, I had to go back to the reception to ask again, and the teacher just took it from me without even writing down my daughter's applicant number. I am quite sure it's a loss cause.

Beautiful location, long time reputation, just not for everyone.

我都好鍾恴! 我等到頸都長. 唔怪得阿囝係St stephen interview個陣畫佐張長頸鹿圖畫比我. 到依家我都Keep住.
我都有同阿囝報傳統學校, 都係等結果, 不過St Stephen始終係我既首選. 因為我覺得比較適合囝囝.
呢牌日日都check信箱, 希望有奇蹟出現.

各位請放心, 以我去年經驗學校會在11月初出頭一批信, 第一次註冊安排在自行派位公佈後的第一天, 所以讓大家有機會考慮清楚才註冊. 留位費今年是3,000元小冊子上有寫(去年是2,000). 之後有後補位會在1前出信. 1月頭會出完所有信包括waiting list.
其實學校並不是大家想像中的很自由, 很多方面和傳統學校一樣要學生尊守規則, 也很嚴. 學生上堂只能用中華牌鉛筆和盡量不帶有公仔和花巧的文具等. 所以我自己觀察小朋友也很乖. 國際化的一面其實是指在教學上, 例如英文堂的教材很多是學校自己編制和傳統學校不同. 在堂上比學生很多機會表達和自由寫作, 所以小朋友都讀得開心.
至於學費上次加應已是六,七年前了. 學校很多課外活動都是免費的, 夏天的 p.e堂一定學游水. 以我為例, 我個小朋友不用在外面學英文, 普通話, 游水, 手工,畫畫. 樂器 (因學校已全部有). 所以交5,200學費我都覺得值.

中文和聖心是用同一本書, 所以也不淺. 但學習比例上的確是運用英文多很多. 英文要求很高. 如果英文底不好可能會吃力. Math, art, 常識都外藉老師教, 所以起碼上堂要聽得明.
其實以前我也擔心學生可能比較naughty, 因為始終有國際學校的一面, 所以我每星期課外活動都自已接放學, 梗可以有機會了解和觀察一下. 其實小朋友都很守規則, 有一次我站在黃線外( 橾場外有黃線地方學生不可過), 馬上有幾個學生過來有禮貌地提醒我要站在那裡, 因有車經過會危險. 我又試過在飯堂看他們吃飯, 六百人一起吃飯都可以很安靜真不容易. 但一到小息就很嘈, 因可留在課室一定要去操場玩. naughty的小朋友間間都會有, 自己個小朋友也有naughty的一面啦, 記得有一次和校長傾開, 我讚佢地高年班的學生很自信. 校長話學校就是想訓練小朋友自信和不怕羞, 對住任何人都可以表現自已, 中英對答都沒問題, 總話六年後我個小朋友都會係梗, 聽完好開心.

Even though my son cannot get a place, I still think that he had tried his best during the interview. Of course, I am very disappointed as St. Stephen is my first choice.

Don't give up yet. Maybe there will be a second batch of acceptance letter, after the first batch gave up their seats after the registration date.

Since I live in Kowloon side and my husband & I are ready to move if St stephen accepted. Moreover, my daughter is going to be K1 so I also applied both kowloon and hong kong side school for her. Yesterday I took my daughter to have 5 interviews for K1 including both Kowloon and hong kong side. Finally we gave up 1 in Kowloon Tong as she could not concentrate. I don't know whether I made a wrong decision for my daughter or not. I am going to be crazy.

Maybe you can call St Stephen's tmr to ask them whether they have sent out all acceptance letters yet. And when will the second batch be sent out and notified, so you can have a better idea of timing. When will your daughter's K1 result be announced and when do you need to react? Maybe it's better to wait till after end of Nov - you will know the result of Govt school by then, and St Stephens should be able to tell you how many people have given up the seats cuz it will be after their registration date, and whether your kid will be one of those on the waiting list that can be accepted.

I am also waiting the result of St. Stephen, I knew some of the parent had received the offered letter already. I just want to know whether the school had sent out reject letter and waiting list letter. Should someone called the school for detail, kindly share. Thanks.

My big girl was also not accepted two years ago for the first round but they put all into a waiting list. By end of Nov, when the school collect the "declaration form" from parents some might give out the seats due to carefully considered not giving up the chance for lucky draw or being accepted by other schools. Worse in worse, many parents will change their mind when other famous schools called up their waiting list for replacement then it is another chance again. It is a long journey if you really like this school. Keep communicating with the Principal maybe you will get a surprise, like what I did two years ago. You will find it worth all these waiting. Thank you :) . I feel so thankful to God, after I pray last week, and receive the acceptance letter.

Don't worry. May be you live far away, so the postman hasn't delivered the letter to you.
If not, later after the first batch, then the second batch. My friend told me , she received the calls from the school on June/July. A lot of people will give up, because of location and they received acceptance from DGS, DBS, SPCC, .....school.

Three of my son's friend(all girls) got the second interview from SPCC. Surprised me, they haven't received the letter from SSPC yet. May be you got the very good offer.

One of my friend said if you study at St. Stephen, you have to go oversea for university as it does not "connect" (not the system but means the course content..etc) with the HK one. Is it true?

我也收到信了,明年只加3000學費真不算多,但註冊費要$5500呢,大家知不知如接受學位,是不能參加大抽奬,但能否再交其它私小或直資註册費呢??

Yes, I think some parents will give up St. Stephen's after Nov 24 if they have other good offers. Do write letters to the headmistress to show your sincerity. Let's keep the faith in HIM!!

你咁想讀緊係寫信去啦!講真interview時得咁小時間,學校的老師只憑個人的感覺去揀學生,未必一定知道個小朋友適
合學校否,所以如果你覺得自己個小朋友係適合的話,當然要做D野幫小朋友憎取,因為最清楚自己小朋友的係父母,我唔覺學校唔揀你就代表你個小朋友唔適合學校,加油!!

其實校長幫你寫個封reference letter一定要original同埋係要直接寫返比個間小學至有用同有誠意,因為如果只係 To whom it may concern小學校長只會當一封普通reference letter,因為知道你會用黎寄比好多間,顯得無誠意無禮貌,所以一定要寫返比個間小學校長
