any mommy will join the PTA (Parents & Teachers) meeting this saturday? any idea what is the purpose of this meeting? thanks :)

新學校年度第一次家校大會，一般來說都是新一屆家長委員選舉，各候選人向出席家長發表’政綱’，然後進行投票．

在點票期間，學校會安排一名坊間的教育工作者就子女教育舉行講座．當講座結束後，便會公布點票結果，而新任的家長委員將聯同學校委員召開第一次家校會委員會議，討論該學年度的家校活動．至於其他出席的家長則可自行離去．

若然家長有任何意見，當然可留步向委員提出（有時會有意見回條供家長填寫），讓委員在會上提出，但過去此情況不多．反而有不少家長遇到囡囡的班主任，或其他相熟家長後，會繼續傾談，但大多不涉及家校會討論的內容．

I was there yesterday. I don't see much P1 parents, I was hoping that I can get to know a few of my daughter's classmates' parents.... We voted for the PTA committe coming year. I was upset because there is no P1 parent, as those 7 committes were members before.

學校一直以來的家校會委員都出現差額選舉，記得最多的一屆超出了近一倍參選人．

在任何差額選舉中，總會有當選及落選的．但我們不像政治的選舉，家長的參與除成為家校會委員會，更重要的就是參與的熱心．

過去每年我都有參與班代表，但永不成為候選人．究其原因，我是希望做，但卻不喜歡行政安排．簡單來說，就是寧做爛頭卒，也不願做將軍．或許就是做慣乞兒懶做官吧！

此外，一年級家長還有五年時間待在學校，反之五六年級家長的囡囡將要升讀中學．若有更多五六年級家長成員，配合三四年級家長成員，以及一二年級家長班代表，便不會出現青黃不接的問題，反而是家校會的得著．
