If DSS accepted our children, we need to sign the letter and return to school, and give up the lucky draw.

Of course you can give up the DSS and join lucky draw. But if you are not happy with the lucky draw result, I guess it will be difficult for you to go back to the DSS that you have turned down before...

No one can take the DSS as backup. You can only choice the private school as your backup.

My friend said her daughters (P.3 & F.1) accepted by True Light (private) and informed by the school. They will send the information to Education Department, so they can't have lucky draw. Beware of the private school's policy, they can change any time. Finally, my friend give up lucky draw.

我女果時係讀真光幼稚園的, 以前的確係唔可以抽獎, 不過我個女果年開始轉了, 可以抽(佢今年p3)
會唔會真光對校內同校外學生有唔同policy?? 申請之前真係要攪清楚.......
我都試過有類似情況, 事實係咁: 當你註冊左私校, 佢會通知edb, 當第一輪過左, 接受第2輪(抽獎)報名之前, edb會寄信俾有關家長(即註冊左私校果d), 問佢地仲會唔會繼續join大抽獎, 如果join的話, edb會通知有關私校(話因為唔想浪費學位wor!), 至於私校點去處理, 就由私校自由決定喇, 如果家長真係驚私校取消學校而放棄大抽獎(我當年既case), 咁就連第2輪既文件都唔會收到喇

你而家唔駛驚住, 到你考到, 要去直資註冊, 至需要考慮清楚究竟去唔去註冊, 因為一但註冊就要放棄政府派位(包括自行派位, 如適用)

自行收生就係11月24日公布,將會11月26至27日註冊.若果直資取錄了你的小朋友,而註冊日期係此上述日期之前,咁你就要決定要唔要直資的位.因為你接受咗個位的話,自行收生的位就沒有架了!

若果只考直資,而沒有參加大抽獎,咁就沒有政府的派位,你就要搵私校嘞!

我剛剛去電問教育處 , 如果直資學校註冊時 , 是早過第 1 輪的申請 , 你便需要放棄第 1 輪申請 .

There should not be any issue as you have not yet got any place in DSS and thus are entitled for the lucky draw.

It was the same case for me last year - at the time I submitted the form for lucky draw, my boy was still in the interview process by the DSSs.

如果直資學校11月要我註冊, 但係佢地又無講明註冊時係咪要簽紙放棄大抽棄, 咁係咪假如我一註冊左間直資學校, 我1月份就唔可以申請參加大抽獎呢? 抑者可以照註冊直資又同時參加大抽獎, 到大抽獎有結果時先選其一?

If you register with a 直資學校, your name will be forwarded to the education department and you will be excluded from the 2nd round lucky draw.
If you register with a private school, you may be allowed to go ahead with the 2nd round lucky draw.
It would be best to check with the individual school concerned anyway.

可以，但當你直資註冊後，你官/津校個位就會取消。
