I called them last week and they told me that they will start the playgroup next month only.

the teacher said they will start mid Oct. And those on the waiting list won't be informed. Only those can enroll would be called. It also doesn't matter what time you choose, it's one list.

I received their call on 23/9. They offer my girl Sat playgroup. However, we have another playgroup on sat so I choose Tue & Thu 10:30-12:30 start from 2 Oct 2008. Anyone choose this also?

Is your class in the morning session? I would like to change my son's class to morning session since he needs to take a nap at 2 to 4pm. My Victoria Class is Tue, Thur ,1 to 3 pm. Do you have the interest to swap with us? Please check pm.

Sorry for the late reply as i'm a busy on my work.
my son is 14 months now. I called them and rejected the class as I prefer twice a week instead of 3 times a week. They will put me on waiting list again (i hope its ture) because some of my friends said if i rejected their offer, no more in the future!!

你係邊班? 我係 Tue, Thur, 1-3pm 班, 英文老師係 Ms. Carrie. 我地有行入音樂室, 唱了幾首歌. 而係自由活動既時間, Ms Carrie都好主動去接觸各位小朋友, 同佢地用英文溝通.
個人覺得呢個playgroup都幾適合我個bb. 佢而家係探索期, 好喜歡自己決定點玩, 唔想人比太多指示佢. 之前我bb返過一個蒙特梳利既playgroup, 個導師唔比我地家長interrupt bb點玩, 我見到我個b由好被動咁企係度睇住其他小朋友到自己主動去拿教具自己摸索去做, 到完成後佢好自豪既表情, 我開始相信果位導師既教育手法, 同時好驚訝小朋友自我學習既能力. 我個bb返完果8堂playgroup後, 明顯自信心強了很多. 經過呢次經驗, 我希望幫bb搵一間可以比佢有多點自我發展空間既學校.
以前都有聽過人話維記既playgroup好頹, 反而返了一堂後, 覺得佢比我想像中好.
以上只係個人意見.

It's also my baby's nap time. 
He nearly fell into sleep during the circle time when singing songs. Then, when we walked back into classroom, he woke up a bit. I'm glad that the toys inside the classroom attracted his attention and he didn't fall asleep again.

Trini joined the plagroup in last Sat and she attended the class at 11am...
For Trini, I think it is a good opportunity to explore, especially for the first lesson....
My little girl is not a very active person. Frankly, she is very observative... For me, it is really a good opportunity for her to get use with the new environment in the first session w/o lots of instructions from the teacher and I believed that she did enjoy it... at least she didn't cried and walked around on her own...
Agree that the Chinese teacher performed much better than the English one, bear in mind she is a really young lady... let's keep her time to train up...

Our Chinese teacher names Miss Ng but I think she is too trendy... she always wear bulky earing and ring and I am bit worry the children will get hurt easily....
For English teacher, she is a early 20s lady and her name is something like Juanne....

Oh not same Chinese Teacher?
Miss Tong Tong is very casual and nice
That means the quality of its Chinese Teachers are quite good
But English teachers are less experiences

But my session is 1-3pm, that makes me difficult to arrange another Montessori playgroup to my boy. (I had been on the waiting list of the Montessori playgroup for 3 months and I had to reject the offer when they called me last week. 
)

To me, frankly speaking, i'm quite disappointed about their teaching, esp. compare with other kindergartens.
But joining the playgp can get bigger chance to join their PN. I just like the English environment but the english teachers are at few experience.
Really a bit confused......

I agree with you that Harbour Green Victoria is very clean. My boy had joined another kindergarten's playgroup at the same week and that one is terribly dirty and my boy fell very sick (high fever, need to stay at hospital) one day after that playgroup. And so, my boy was absent from Victoria's playgroup after the first lesson and just resumed class. (I didn't let my son to attend that playgroup any more even though I had made full payment for it.)
I know my boy is lucky to have good teachers in his class. Just wonder the complaints about other classes are due to the inability of the individual teacher or the teaching method/style of the course.
Since I would like my boy to continue his N1 and K1 in this school, I would like to know more about it.

Hi all, I am glad that there is a discussion group about Harbour Green Victoria playgroup. I am a working mom and my little boy is attending Mon, Wed & Fri 8:30-10:30am playgroup there. My maid brought him there and the comment I have heard from her is not so good. My boy likes music alot but the teacher doesn't sing too many songs. Since my bb will be 2 years old in December, we wish him to stay in Victoria for PN because it is closer to hom (we live in Harbour Green).
Could you all give me some more detail about the class of playgroup? I brought him to attend the first class but the teacher asked us to leave at around 8:45am so we didn't know what is in the playgroup. Besides, we have found that there are only 3-4 bb in the class. How many do your class have?

For Sat morning session, there are around 7 babies per class.
My hubby always asked me what did my boy learn from the class...but to be honest, I can only say he will learn how to play with other babies in future with more interaction with others..
unlike the other playgroups that we attended before, like 幼潛 or the Little Gym, both have very systematic way to teach the babies based on their level...but for Victoria one, I cannot see any method that they are adopting now....
any observations from other mamas?

好多時會玩幼潛玩過的遊戲同唱過的歌喎，好以將細少物品入樽，唱一個頭仔搖搖搖...
我覺得形式係模仿幼兒班，很多KG playgroup也如此，類似學前適應班，其實我覺得ok,我個女好like,回家玩時會自己唱上堂唱過的歌，不過只唱中文(Miss Tong唱果啲),但英文方面真有點失望，雖然Miss Fong也很投入，但總像欠了點什麽.
報此校兩歲班，主要buy 佢l英文強，但事實...
如果佢英文老師只是一般，是否應選英文老師也是一般但起碼是西人的LH?LH在我屋企樓下，2月就可插班...
我仍在考慮同觀察中...
但V記硬件真的很不錯...

Frankly, I don't care whether the english teacher is a born to be native or ABC. My concern is whether they know how to teach... Even though they are foreigner, they may have different asscents anyway....
However, compare with LH English teacher, believing the teacher in Victoria will be more qualified in teaching and the hearts, what they lack is the experience instead of the theory from their education degree...
Anyway, believe that I will stick with Victoria if they offer me a seat for PN... I hope my baby can stay in a clean and healthy environment when she is still baby.... they are the most hygiene concerned kindergarden I ever visited...
Last but not least, I don't prefer her to take the school bus... However, I may look for another kindergarden for K1.

Hi snoopy123, my son is attending Mon, Wed & Fri 8:30-10:30am playgroup as well!! If full class, there should be 10 but babies are easy to get sick (even my son was absent for 3 classes) so normally around 6-7. Agreed the English teacher is disappointing but Chinese Ms. Tong is good. Suggest you accompanying your son to attend for a class, feel it personally :)

環境就V記好好多
中文老師V記也好好多(不過唔知係唔係個個咁好?)
英文老師就好難講，LH個個week換...(初時我好反感，但後來又覺得比佢經常接觸陌生人也不錯，train下佢，因佢有點怕陌生人)
另外LH 的playgroup 主題較鮮明，好似講family就全堂講family,但V記只隨便講個故事，玩下唔同玩意，唱下歌仔.
PN就唔清楚，我都考慮中，唔知V記是否雙班主任?LH就是，如果LH2月收左我個女，我會上住先，我女0701，0910也是讀PN,如果到時V記收再考慮.
