我本來都諗住琴日去聽talk, 但臨時有事去唔到, 有冇家長可以講一講報名程序同時間呀? Thanks x 1000!!

我朋友胙天已為仔仔申请St. Margaret 09-10 P1, 因文件齊, 她即時已獲通知9月１日下午1st Interview, 希望她仔仔好快有好消息.

另一朋友的仔仔今年９月讀P1, 原是St. Margaret waiting list, 7月後TSL & St.Margaret 都補收了她仔仔, 最後她還是決定讓仔仔讀St Margaret...

本校的教學特色將讓越來越多家長所認同.

我囡囡interview完2-3個星期到大概9月底左右就收到通知收咗, 無2nd interview, 所以之後都無再去in其他學校, 真係一身鬆哂.

不過年年都會有d唔同, 所以只可以耐心等候.

唔係. 1st in只是小朋友. 家長在校務處等.

My boy is now in P1.  Just to share our last year experience with those 2009 P1 parents -

We submitted the form in mid Sep.  1st interview was on Oct 2 and 2nd in on Oct 15.

As what was told by my boy, the 1st interview was conducted in both group activities and individual talk.

For the group activities, the teachers asked him to draw a picture and play some games.  He didn't tell what exactly the games were.  But he was very happy after the interview.

The purpose of the individual part we thought was to know more about the kid and his family and to identify the strengths and weakness of the kid.

If the school considered the kid fit for SM, they then invited the parents for 2nd interview which was to dig out more on their expectations and on whether these would go in line with the school's.  The conductor then would point out the strengths and weakness of the kid they observed (which was very true for my case and the classmates of my boy).

From our last year experience, the 1st interview was more determinative and the 2nd interview was just to confirm the kid would fit SM.  Admission offer was given immediate after the 2nd interview if SM found your kid fit the school.

We feel that SM looks for kids that have certain level of English proficiency as part of the 1st interview was conducted in English.  This makes sense to that it is an English school.

I would say the teachers of SM are very good at "knowing" the kids through casual talks.  I could not believe my boy had told them such a lot of things when those were brought up in the 2nd interview.  So, nothing can be trained.  Just be himself / herself.

One thing I appreciate SM is the teachers try to "know the kids more" during the interview rather than to test the "ability" of the kids or to squeeze them.

老實講, 每一次睇完SM家長O既COMMENT都會越來越鍾意呢間學校, 因為所有O既優點我都覺得係重要O既(注重語言教學, 對小朋友了解, 愉快學習之餘又不忘面對香港現實社會O既需要...) 反而所謂O既缺點我又唔覺得係問題(以前係BAND 3女學校, 好多差仔...) 真係好期待面試日O既來臨, 希望仔仔都會喜歡呢間學校

Hi 咁多位SMC 家長,

想問下如果得, 2nd in 是以什麼形式通知...電話 or 寄信? waiting list or 唔得是否唔會通知架啦!!

Both our 1st and 2nd interview last year was informed by phone. SMC was very considerate and provided different time slot to fit the schedule of parents.

Learnt from Baby Kingdom last year that waiting list would not be notified (but I am not 100% sure).

Hi monkeydad, thanks your info. I have applied both Ying Wah & want to apply SM too. If I am so lucky that accepted by SM and pay the fee for reservation, then can I still also reconsider the acceptance of Ying Wah later ?

可以, 你accept幾多間直資/私校都冇問題. 不過, 當然你最好早d放番唔揀o既位出o黎俾其他人啦 :p
