有無小朋友係學緊兩種樂器？
長遠是否可以應付呢？

Papa,

It depends on the talent, interest and eagerness to practise of the kids. Many students studying Music at college can play 2 or more instruments nowadays.
It is relatively easy at the beginners' levels. As level advances, one needs more and more time to practise no matter how talented the kid is.
My kid plays both piano and violin. At first, I "designated" piano as the 1st instrument and violin as the minor instrument. After several years, he obviously likes violin more and violin now becomes the 1st instrument. He refuses to practise piano and I promise him to let him quit piano after Grade 6 exam this year.
Thus, kids may start with 2 instruments and parents monitor progress. If problems come (e.g. no time to practise), kids should consider choosing one to avoid "half bucket of water" eventually.

我都有比個仔學琴同大提琴, 開頭係學琴先, 學識睇譜, 有少少底至學大提琴. 不過我都担心個仔上咗小學後仲可唔可以堅持到, 始終每日練習需要好大恆心.

I have the same thinking and hence I just let my boy to concentrate on piano first.

See how's the progress and see whether he could pick up the 2nd instrument at secondary level (when he has more foundation on his piano).

我的女兒正在學琴+單簧管, 她每日練習的時間不多, 既然她沒有說放棄, 就唯有隨她吧!

My son is studying 2 instruments, one is percussion and one is cello. He is 6 years old. He felt happy to study. Of course, I don't force him to much. He is just pass the Grade 1 Percussion. For my opinion, I would like him to have good foundation of rhythmic training, then the other instruments will play better and the examination result will also better. This is my point of view as a music teacher

I recommend you to choice one musical instrument to let him or her to have chance to play music together, which main ensemble. It will help them to improve the kids sight-reading techniques and enjoy the happiness to study musical instrument. So, beside piano, you may choice one more non piano instrument. I recommend winds, brass or percussion. Strings need more time to study up to grade 5. But the instruments which I mentioned above are faster. Of course, some special instruments will help primary students to easy to find better secondary schools.
