Is St. Paul's Primary Chinese Language class is teach by Putongtua?

Please help and advise.

Yes, but from P4 onwards.

P1 - P3: Chinese taught in Cantonese + Putonghua lessons

P4 - P6: Putonghua lessons cancelled, original PTH lessons merged with Chinese. Chinese taught in PTH.

I don't think so. The school has to cater those who have not learnt PTH in their kindy life and provide a solid foundation for all before "transitting" to a whole PTH learning environment for Chinese lessons.

其實學校由小四才用普通話教中文是一個非常恰當的安排。

陳校長解釋過，小一是給孩子適應小學生活，因爲英文科已經有外籍老師 (communicative eng)，對一些孩子來説，用英文上課是有困難的，如果連中文科都用普通話，那麽年紀少少就要同時適應兩種語言上課，可能會對他們造成壓力。

所以校長寧願在小四才開始。爲什麽要到小四，而不是小二小三？校長解釋，小三要TSA，功課量比小二沉重，不適宜用普通話教中文，而且如果表現不好，用普通話教中文對TSA中文科評核的表現也有直接影響。而小二不用普通話教中文，是因爲要學生先打好漢語拼音的基礎。所以小一至小三的普通話課會有額外的教材幫助他們打好漢語拼音的根基。

小三過後，漢語拼音已經有一定的基礎，而TSA也過了，學生的小學生活都穩定下來，所以用普通話教中文就是最適合的時機。

It seems well consider for the child.

I feel most of the parent are so satisfy on 陳校長's idea.
