Hi,
I just wondered whether any of you know about Anfield in Kowloon Tong or not? Have any of your kids studied there?

My son joined the playgroup there this April when he turned 2 years old. He liked it very much.
When he joined, he did not speak a word of English, now he is comfortable when I talked to him in English, and he is eager to repeat what I said, although he is still unable to pronounce correctly.
He also asked me to read English story to him.
He will be joining preparatory class (kind of pre-nursery) this September. All in all, I am quite happy with Anfield.

My girl will be going to the Pre-K class this Sept. She joined Anfield starting from August last year and enjoyed it very much. She likes all teachers there, Teacher Robert, Teacher Raj and Teacher Yani. To me, Anfield is a very good school!

May I know the age range for children joining Anfield's playgroup? Is their waiting list long? My son is 3 month old now. When should I submit an application for him if I'm interested in their playgroup? Thanks.

Age range for playgroup is 1yr6mths - 2yr3mths
They'll accept application for the child who meet the age only, u can't apply earlier. In my case, my child enrolled to the class 1mth later & he's now upgrade to pre-programme. U can check with their website or call them to c when is open day.

How much day your baby attended a week? 3days/2days/or only the weekend class that he can use english to communicate with u? I just want to enrol playgroup for my daughter-1day class at Sat, but I just wonder, 1day class is enough or not because 3 days class is so expensive for me

My son has been taking 3 days course for around 18 months already. Yes, he likes it very much and he does learn quite a lot from the playgroup. It's a pity that we need to say goodbye to the school in 2 weeks times because he will move to esf for kindergarten.

My son is also taking 3-day class. One day is just not enough. You have to give the kid more time in an English environment.

To answer your question on ESF - my daughter got into ESF this Jan and starting her Y1 in end-August. One of her classmates whom attended the interview together with my daughter had also been accepted by ESF for Y1 in 2008/09. She was from Anfield. Her mother told me that the reason for her to get her daughter to Anfield was that the school promise her higher chance to get interview with ESF. However, you need to make sure your kids are using English as medium of communications at home all the time.
Hope this is helpful to you!
Cheers, Monghar
