出售 Clarinet Yamaha YCL250
My son is studing in CKY. He studied Clarinet when he was Yr. 1. As he shall study another instrument next Year, his Yamaha YCL250 Clarinet is ready for sell.
The YCL250 Clarinet is 90% new and is now under TOM LEE annual cleaning.
The first hand price is $2600 and now is selling at $1300.

Although my son is not in need of Clarinet, I want to know under what situation kids shall / can study another instrument?
I think most parents also wonder whether our kids have chosen 'right' instrument or not, so I raise such question. In orientation, the teacher told that kids are supposed to study the instrument being chosen in the coming 12 years. Is it true?

My son learn Clarinet as well when he was in Y1 (now he was in Y3). He choose this instructment all by himself after he attended the orientation for no reason.
He love this so much and luckily he just asking to go in the school band. Which he is so glad to get in. Each kid is good in different thing, therefore keep on searching and let them try to see where are their talent.

Dear kyliema,
Long time no chat. Did your son enjoy grade 3 school life? My son was in 3A this year.
Regarding clarinet, I let him to join Clarinet class during summer holiday as well in some music center (just to make sure he can keep it up before school start). And the teacher there always encourage him and ask him to have Grade 3 exam. Therefore in this case, I think he have a lot of confident.
Did you talk to your son? May be he want to change to another instructment, just talk to him and see what's he want! If he don't like and of course he won't pratice, no improvement and he will have a hard feeling-don't force.
Or may be try to let him to play outside in some music center, 1:1 and see what is the teacher comment, may be he can have fun over there.

他上學依然很開心，今年太空的topics，課程都很深入，不過有些資訊好像不夠更新。Ms Sa是他三個班主任的其中一位，可能她需要處理學校行政工作，所以祇教授英文，開學一個月了，Ms Sa都未曾就囝囝表現給我們在手冊上留言。唉！都不可以要求太多啦。Anyway, so far so good.

Yes right go and try in the outside center. I think is a good try as well.
My son class teachers did send me comment in about 1-2 weeks (1 week is chinese teacher and 1 week is English teacher). English class teacher also teach art and math.
On my side, I also update them how my son doing at home and what my son's comment about school-to have more interact.
He join the School poem festival (Mandarin) and next year March-school Music festival (Clarinet solo). Just let him to have more experience and try to face public.
Ms Lee no longer teach my son since this week. School have hire one more clarinet teacher. But knowing that Ms. Lee is still teaching your son.

學習音樂真係要持之以恆
弦樂如小提琴是難學難精，一般小朋友劏雞不足一年就放棄了
管樂如clarinet是易學難精，到一、二年要操練scale和長音時，真係悶死人
或者找一些孩子喜歡的流行曲樂譜，練好了，也會有些achievement?
學習樂器最怕是，同一樂器同時分別由不同人教
會否考慮找Ms Lee在課堂外私人教授？
只不過聽聞Ms Lee有很多學生，時間已排得滿滿的

去年暑假曾找Ms Lee補課，一來時間很難預約，二來需於假日老遠走到九龍城。最最最慘是囝囝一個人學，好無心機，表現仲衰過未學嗰陣，簡單講句「死晒火」。
唯有跨張講句，「死馬當活馬醫」，希望在不同導師啓蒙下，會有所啓發啦！如果唔得，都唔知點喇。

Dear HeiHei Ma,
Although music teacher recommand your kid to go for School Music Festival, but you need to find the piano accompany by yourself. If you really join, is better you hire a clarinet music teacher for your kid outside, teacher won't spend extra time for you. (Only ask you to pratice/play the song during the instructment lesson once in a week).
Ms Lee is no longer my son clarinet teacher since P3.P3 is another teacher and now P4 is another teacher again.
I let my son to learn outside since P2 summer holiday. And my son Clarinet teacher's wife is a pianoist, therefore she will be the one to play the piano part. She charge HKD 500.00.
Adverage is around HKD 250.00-HKD 500.00.

Also music teacher will give you 曲譜 if he is the one to recommand you to join. He/.She will give you the photocopy only. Still you need to buy the original one from Tom Lee (You need to use the original version during the competition).
I just called Tom Lee, and they only have few sets left. Go and get it quick.

Hi all, my son joined the Clarinet Solo last year and we have submitted form to join again this year!
Last year I played the accompaniment for him myself because I thought it was easy. We could also enjoy a lot of fun practising at home all the time. However, we didn't know that we have to tune the instrument on the stage in front of the adjudicator. In the end, we tried to do it but apparently the adjudicator could tell we didn't know how to do it. In the end, the comments wrote : "Tuning was not completed securely...."
This year, I took a lot of efforts to convince him to join again! Therefore, anyone should find adequate guidance before performing in public!

Last year should be a valuable experience for you and your kids. You should able to see how well prepared of other kids (other schools) in this competition. They are not only well equipped (with a set of reed, a tuner, or even a stand for the instrument) but also well trained with famous teacher or at least trained with other tutor beside the school one.

My son also didn't tune his clarinet last year (which was the first year he joined), but also gained the credit. I just thought that the tuning part is not included the marking scheme, just a wild guess.

-My son is no longer with Ms. Lee after P2. There are 2 different clarinet teachers, but sorry I do not know their name.
