Dear parents,  I would like to seek for a phonics course for my 5 years old daughter.

I searched in the internet found Jolly Kingdom and another program is called 'Letterland'.  But seems that Letterland is run by different centers.

could someone give comment to the above 2 systems ?  And where i can join 'Letterland's program in HK island ?

Thanks !!

any mommies can give some recommendation ?

As phonics should be able to help children to spell words easily.  Please give me some of your past experience on Jollykingdom or Letterland.

My son studies Letterland.  Letteland mainly makes use of a lot of characters to assist the children to remember the sound of the letter.

For example, for letter A they call it "Annie Apple", for letter B the character is called "Bouncy Ben" so on and so forth.

I attended Letterland Phonics training session myself so I know what the material is about.  Also, I make use of a lot of readers to help my son to read.

My son started reading English storybooks when he was slightly before 2 years old.  At that time I held his fingers to point to the words and read together with him.  Later he could recognize a lot of words and now he is 4 and he can read storybooks of primary students.

I have a friend living near me and her daughter cannot quite recognize and read English words.  She is asking me to teach her daughter and I am still thinking about it.

Thanks for your response to my question.

So you think Letterland is helpful to a kid recognising words ?  As my daughter has no problem listening and speaking in English, but only not able to recognise them...

I've joined a Letterland level 1 course in a nearby English center.
