好急呀!有無現時讀緊圓玄小學的家長?

小女就讀k2,九月便要揀小學,心儀有圓玄和梁周上,星期日去了圓玄簡介會,感覺老師不熱情,有些担心,所以好想問吓平時是否這樣?你們的小朋友上學happy嗎?能否掌握課程內容,同他們温習難不難?請各位媽咪幫我解難!

my son is P1 student in YYPS, i don't have any bad feeling on the Net or local teachers. They are very nice, don't worry.

咁我想問下佢地d功課係咪真如老師係簡介會所講, 唔太深&難架, 因為我英文唔好, 怕幫唔到佢.

Yes, the homework loading is not heavy and the teacher will go through and explain with the class. So they will know how to do by themselves.

Actually, I only know PLK YYPS because my son is their student. Maybe you can consider the location and compare the resources of the school.

啱啱過個果好似係簡介會咋. 至於幾時再有, 你可以打去學校問. 我自己就由K2開始囉, 但聽返同學仔嘅媽咪講基本上學校應該會有安排, 曾聽聞有間幼稚園已經安排咗13間小學俾D家長去啦, 我仔仔個間就安排得3間啫, 所以你可以問返幼稚園啦.

我有幾個小朋友讀天水圍呢間（補習學生Only)
佢地比我感覺係個間學校既英文水平唔差，
因為ｄ老師除了某些堂外全用英文教學。
而課外活動都幾多選擇～～因為我見ｄ小朋友都幾多野學

之不過我覺得我ｄ小朋友可能因為係個家長都幾肯付出money
變相佢地既價值觀就麻麻地。有需要教育佢地呢方面。
個人感覺oNLY

I also attended the briefing session before.  The general feeling of this primary school is able to provide more time for student to study the language.  However, I also have the other concerns such as:

1. No graduate up to this moment.  That means no reference of percentage of band 1 student and no way to evaluate the student's performance.
2. Hardware is not good compared to most of the other primary school.  Although the school emphasized on the software, the hardware is also very important.
3. Better language learning environment doesn't represent to learn the other subjects better
4. Not mention to have places reserved in secondary school.  Also, there are 7 primary schools in the same organization to compete 2 secondary schools in this district

This is just my little comments and feelings

Hi vnpapa,
I have the same concern. I know that it will be hard for my kid to go to band 1 secondary school because it may not have good banding since it is a new school. But i do let my son to study there ( i don't know whether it is right or not.) I always remind me that i want my kid to spend more time to read storybooks or join other activities than spending most of the time doing homework especially during p1-p3. i believe that through reading he can learn more.

, 所以唔想小朋友好似我咁)但又怕出路太少...真係唔知可以點揀.......你地有冇提議呀?

我唔明點解你會學覺得保圓d老師唔熱心呢? 我反而覺得佢地唔會好似其它學校咁假, 個個四萬咁口

將d愛心堆晒o向塊面度

想知佢地反學開唔開心, 抽d時間自已去睇下e+d小朋友點樣返學, 亦可以在放學時間同接放學的家長傾下計咪知囉, 我以前都係咁做

I have the same concern as well, they have stressed so much on "兩文三語"; which I agreed that is important to our child, but what about:
1. other extra-curr. activities?
2. child development in terms of moral, intellectual, AQ, independence, creativity etc?

Any parents can share their view / experience on this school??

Yes, it' really no choice to the parents In Tuen Mun as there is one and only one non-public primary school for selection.  Also, Yuen Yuen is not the private primary school.  You need to give up the "lucky draw" from the pool of public primary school if you chose it.

Despite of that, I think I'll still send the application form to Yuen Yuen for my little child.  No matter Yuen Yuen has the offer or not, or I accept her offer or not, it's a good chance for the child to have the experience of an interview.

Anyway, good luck to your child.  "Good luck" is really a very important under the current mechanism of HK Education Bureau.
