想到 '九龍塘學校(小學部)' 叩門, 是否要親身去 or 郵寄呢?

囡囡之前 interview 但落選, 不過校長的信說歡迎在6月初再嘗試申請.

親身去的話應該什麼時間去適合才見到校長呢?

你有無上kts web-site睇過？要响11/6-12/6入表申請，候補生優先。.........如果你真係有心，就算候補都輪吾到，你可以開咗學，繼續試，因為開學後一至二星期內，有d學生都會轉校......

這時候，雖然叩門都係去放低 profile，但係親身去好些。

應該唔會見到校長。

今天收到風，今年只收三班 (通常暑期入學預備班會多一班。)，如往年做法 "嚴控正取生人數，有空位由候補生補上"。

正取生今天註冊完，幸好註冊人數在預算之內

，仍有位給候補生，我有朋友係候補生，明天會很早到學校。

候補生收唔收得哂.....唔知，要看多不多候補生登記，今年82%獲分派首三名志願，樂觀審慎。

將有沒有位給新申請者，唔知，要看多不多候補生登記，不一定冇。

叩門，早些交 profile 啦。

I submitted the waiting list reply form on Jun 11 around lunch time (the first day for submission). But recd no tel call till now. What should I do? Can you advise? Thanks a lot.

Thanks, brother Ben. In fact, I had attached a letter to express my wish when I submitted the reply form.

Do you know normally how many candidates are there on the waiting list? Only few days left, they said they will call the successful candidates the latest by Jun 17 next Tuesday.

Yes, Ben, you're right.

Dear carsondaddy, 17/6 may not be the last round of admission. Keep trying by sending letters, if you're keen. In the letters, showing your enthusiasm & your kid's strengths may be helpful, and updating your kid's latest achievement to the principal.

From my impression, this school does care about kids and parents. Hence, follow up letters may be helpful.

Is that right, Ben?

School adm. staff tell you the rules and standard procedure. If you need special attention, directly tell the one who makes the rules know. Who? Guess you've known. That's why Ben's "如果係我，我會再去，唔理 website 寫乜，再唔收就寄去，盡人事博博。" is to the point.

If parents are keen in KTS and the kid's education, I'd also suggest you to express it naturally (ie just state what you intend to say. no need to care any "rules of games") to the principal (and show evidence, if any), and keep trying. Miracle would happen at any critical dates in almost evey month between now & Aug. (could be even in Sept). It did happen in the past, and it may happen again in the future. Try your every effort, and leave the rest to the God.

This is coincidentially KTS's golden rule: "Opportunities are reserved to those who have prepared".

carsondaddy: Following some parents having released their reserved place(s) in the future, place(s) would be released to other waiting applicant(s) on any date after the 17/6 deadline. But how many, no idea.

KTS是一間好的學校，很多醒目仔、醒目女入去讀，而它入Band 1中學約有7x%[數字不對的話請指正] 早排在BK看到成績相差一兩分，名次可能已差很多，競爭咁激列，要小朋友入到頭7X名咪很困難，但假如入讀同區無KTS咁高水準的小學，而成績又保持到50名內，咁派到Band 1的機會比KTS會否容易些。

我唔覺 "成績相差一兩分，名次可能已差很多" ，可以 roughly 講講。

"一兩分"，如果用全年，4 科加理再除 4 後的一兩分來說。

相差一兩分，

在頭 10 名內的名次，相差很大；

在 10 to 20 名內的名次，相差也大；

在 30 to 70 名內的名次，相差不會太多；

PS
全年平均一兩分，不是少的分數。
3 次呈分試決定 Banding 1,2 or 3 。

至於大塘小魚好，還是小塘大魚好，是一個很深的問題。

不過，可以講下我些少 general 的睇法 (不代表正確。

)

1. 有一部份的小朋友，在大塘或小塘，都會係中魚。

2. 入到 Band 1 英中只是開始，不是終點。

3. 以全收 Band 1 生的中學為例 (不計傳統名校)，F.1 學生的水準，可以講可再分三個 Banding, Band 1_1, Band 1_2 and Band 1_3，私校學生往往在頭 50% 內 (Band 1_1 + Top half Band 1_2)。

4. 如果小朋友在小學是前面的學生，但基於小學水準問題，入到 Band 1 英中，是Band 1_3 group，會辛苦。
中學不同小學，如果小朋友升中後，因跟得辛苦而冇心機讀書，家長管唔到，而亦未必明白實際情況，便會心中苦思不解:點解囝囝/囡囡小學咁乖，咁勤力，入到好中學，反而冇心機讀書。如果話下佢，初則口角.....

謝謝Ben2003的分享，可惜我小兒未能成功入到這所好小學。最後我和老公決定給他讀一間官立學校，而放棄另兩間私校。這所官校身邊朋友及學校老師、校長都推薦小兒入讀，希望小兒在這所學校能渡過一個愉快而又充實的小學生活。

除了 KTS ，還有很多學校(官津 / 私校) 是辦得好的。假設最後你囝囝都入不到 KTS ，而入了那所很多人都推薦的官校，我相信一樣會渡過一個愉快而又充實的小學生活。

I recd the call today too.  So excited!

I had my boy attended the second round interview of PLKTSL in June. After 2 tests, he was accepted.  While I am prepared to attend the parents day and registration tomorrow (deposit paid last week already), KTS called today.  But as you said opportunity is only for those who prepared.  In fact I sent several letters to KTS before June,and after the waiting list results release on 17/6, I kept on sending letters to the principal till 9/7, the day for on-line register.

Hope my boy will lead a happy and successful school life at KTS.  Trust you'll be glad to share your experiences as usual.

When I registered this morning, the staff told me they have only 3 classes this year. On the registration list, there are 10 candidates in total.

If you go into the class structure section of the school website, you'll find this year's P.2 has 6 classes, P5 and P6 has 3 clases only each, and the total no. of classes P1-6 are 24. Think it may take few more years that the school can go back to normal - 4 classes per grade.

year and 3 classes next year. So, only 3 classes of P.1
this year and until this year P.4 (4 classes) promote
to P.6, when they graduate that year, KTS can have
4 classes P.1.
