Winchester College.

You have to send the application form at 8 and interview at 11 in UK and enter the shool at 13.

I don't think Winchester College is Catholic!
Neither is Eton nor Harrow!
They are all Anglican, I think.

Even thought Winchester has many students go to Oxford, it all depends on the child's talent and effort.

is the intention just to get into Oxford? Each Uni would have their leading academic subjects, for Oxford, it would be leaning more towards literature & philosophy. If the intention is to get the best out of Oxford, you may also want to consider which direction the child would desire to head for. Then select a college which also performs well towards such subjects.

I am a student in Oxford right now, and i think in order to get in Oxford, what important is to do well in the interviews and the entry exams. For example (myself), I applied for math last year, and i gained 90% in the entry exam and got 5 interviews (which is a lot) during the interview week !!

Of course, at first your son have to do well in the exam, i would say at least 3As in the AS-LEVEL.

Good point.

People only love the famous uni because they will have 'face'!

I prefer my son to leading academic subject uni.

My cousin is studying Med in London University and one of the London Hospital employed her for assistant.
The school fee is around GBP9000 per year, luckily her monthly income is GBP2000 -  3000 be a doctor.
It is better than HK.  She is just 24 and she can find a very good job now.

Her main subject is Heart Studies.  It is not easy in the exam  Only 2 out of 5 can passed.  Her boy friend was passed buy she got one mistake in oral test.  So she need to replete.

In HK, the education is so..........good and change every few years......we cannot catch up and follow again.

No choice, we should find the other way for our kids.
