小妹才疏學淺,請問各位....魚(fish)既複數應該係fishes 定係 fishs 呢?
我仔小二,有次做功課佢寫fishs仲堅持老師話啱,我迫佢改咗做fishes,(跟據我咁多年所學既都有100%肯定係我啱)點知份功課返黎比先生打咗個大交叉

其實同類事件已經係小一發生過.於是我叫我仔返去問老師,老師話fishes係多過一個種類而數量多,而fishs呢就好似魚柳係一條魚切開一舊舊,我聽到一頭冒水

唔知個仔理解錯定係真有其事,請各位高人指點?

嚴格黎講, fish眾數應該都係fish, 好似幾多隻sheep都係sheep一樣
不過新派英文好多人都會用fishes了
如果小二生學緊irregular plural, 咁老師九成九要求既答案會係fish了

哈哈.... 最近我的一位外國人朋友(教書的)拿着一本叫Fishes的英文書向我埋怨, 說她學魚的眾數也應是Fish的, 見倒那本書名叫Fishes的書感覺怪怪的.

Yes, grammar books and dictionaries say the same.

From Cambridge dictionary:

fish (ANIMAL) noun (plural fish or fishes)

Common Learner Error:
fish or fishes?

Fish is the usual plural.

Fishes is sometimes used to talk about different types of fish.
Example:
In the Pacific we saw exotic fishes that you never see in Europe.

That teacher who says "fishs" is correct should either be fired or re-trained (by somebody who's Engl is really good, not just by anybody) !!

我都知道fishs一定係錯架啦!好似我老公話齋都發唔到音,個老師過咗機準未架?總之為咗下一代大家一齊研究,唔好比人批評香港人d英文水平差過以前,我讀書唔多但都想個仔好
