I don't think this is true.

Take HK as a example :

- ESF, CIS, FIS and even GSIS switched from GCE A-Level to IBD in recent years.
- Student in these schools can use GCE-A LeveL to apply for schools aboard , such as USA & UK and even Australia
( actually, they are doing these for decades. )
- they don't need to switch to IBD simply because the students need to apply overseas university
- they must have other reasons to switch to IBD

Sorry, I don't understand your logic again.

If you think each system has it's own pros and cons, which I strongly agreed with you, then why you put a immediate, bold stateman that It' much better than the usual style and modes of education offered by Hong Kong's local schools?

Do you think it's logically correct or I miss some points from you?

Thanks christf for sending me the reports. I have finally gone through them. It seems that most universities interviewed speak very highly of IB and the majority of GSIS's parents prefer IB too. My observation is that the GSIS parents who are against IB dislike it for 2 reasons: (1) parents of students in upper grade do not want their children to be guinea pigs, (2) there are some parents who want all science or all arts, which is not allowed under the IB. It also seems that the teachers are very resistent to changes. I can understand that. Why change the winning formula when GSIS is successful at A level? Do u think my observation is correct?

Is it now official that GSIS is changing to IB? When will the change take place? Thanks for sharing.

Can I jump into conclusion ... Get in GSIS and will able to get into famous U. (no matter it is IB or not). The questions is which IS is as good as GSIS ?

Can't agree the 'conclusion' more, given GSIS's track record in dispatching its students to top-notch universities. IB or not may not count as much as one thinks.
