Hi,

My daughter is now attending Anchors Kindergarten. She's just swapped from the pm class to the am class and unfortunately, I do not know any parents from her current class.

I'm just writing in the hope of meeting some of her friends' parents on this board.

Please write if you have children in K1.

I speak English and can handle a bit of cantonese (but cannot read nor write Chinese). I got into this site with A LOT of help from my Chinese friends.

There's one thing I'm worried about with Anchors. I heard that they go to Europe to hire English teachers instead of going to English speaking countries. I was told that my daughter's English teacher is French. Anyone else worried or is it just me?

Hi Peggy,

My daughter is attending the local stream. I think it's important that she knows how to read, write and speak Cantonese (as well as Mandarin) because that is her identity.

I spoke to her class teacher yesterday about my concerns regarding the international teachers. Her teacher did not say I was wrong, so now I'm pretty sure that they do recruit from Europe. However she did say to me that the teachers who are recruited are well qualified and are experienced so I shouldn't worry.

I really hope so. I think I'll request to meet with her english teacher the next time I'm at Anchors.
