小兒剛在小童群益會做咗韋氏那個評估,但收到的報告沒有很多家長提及的(e.g 100＋分)而係：

Intelligence Quotient: Verbal Intelligence Quotient語文
Classification 120-129 (Superior) Percentile Rank 91-97

Performance Intelligence Quotient操作 Classification 90-109 (Average) Percentile Rank 25-74

Full Scale Intelligence Quotient: Result not interpreted

佢地話如果把兩part拉平均分會唔公平喎,咁即係點呢？請問有冇人可解答下我？

我諗係，語言智商和操作智商兩個分差距太大，如果將兩個分拉埋而得總分，你小朋友總智商得分會好低。
如果係咁，因為外邊大部分人只係睇總智商得分來判斷你小朋友的智商分數和能力，咁就對你小朋友不利喇﹗咁樣好易標籤左佢智能。忽略左佢的強項和潛能。

總係覺得，唔知邊個發明智商測驗，

作為參考都未算不可﹗

My understanding is :-

Verbal IQ:-
120 <=> this score is above 91% of the population.
129 <=> this score is above 97% of the population.
[the mid-value score 125 is above 94% of the population]
For 韋氏 classfication, 資優,i.e. Superior Intelligent, 要score > 130, i.e. above 97.5% of the population.

Similarly, for Performance IQ:-
90 <=> this score is above 25% of the population.
109 <=> this score is above 74% of the population.
[the mid-value score 100 is only above 50% of the population]

Since the difference between verbal and performance IQ scores > 20 [125-100=25], normally the educational psychologist will not combine the scores by taking the average and give an overall interpretation. He/she will interpret the verbal and performance IQ separately and present in the report and explain to the parents.
