我係做補習既,有學生讀緊,覺得佢都幾好,功課唔多,幾輕鬆,但係d中文都幾深。一年級都要讀d三、四年級既課文。

培僑書院 is not an international school. You might get more feedback if you post your question on local school forum.

but from the school sites, it seems like the school introduces intself as an international school but with a strong chinese awareness background.... so their chinese textbooks are from china, does that mean they teaches simplified chinese? May i ask besides the chinese, how about their english standards, and also how about the teachers there? my son is also two years now , i am also considering this school for primary, becos it teaches mandarin and english, which i think is very essential for them in the future. and the price for school fees seems reasonable, and it's a new school campus, plus it has hongkong's biggest library. Exploration and Reading are both very important for a child while growing up.

作為蔡繼有的家長,在過去多次的觀課中,我不認為蔡繼有上課出現秩序問題。學校對於不守秩序的學生,老師是會加以制止的。但坦白說,有些低年級學生上課時坐到好似無腰骨,又真係有既。

As far as I remember, I think they have never explicitly claimed to be an international school. Although, the school has been described as a "localised interntional school", I think this was merely a marketing tool. They have once profiled themselves, though, to be a school adopting IB cirriculum, and adopting the teaching methodology of international schools. However, these have been pulled out from their profile a long time ago. At present school seems to be re-directing themselves to be an "alternative" to traditional local school.
Because of the cirriculum (they have to follow local Hong Kong cirruculum since they are a DSS), I think you would expect similar Chinese and English standards from a typical local school.

I totally disagreed that "new style of teaching" doesn't require good class discipline.
I have heard that many new schools with "alternative teaching style" have discipline problems.
I think the problem is that local Hong Kong teachers or educators are not ready yet to follow what international schools are doing. They know too little what the western cirriculum or teaching method is like. They have presumed that western education or international schools means using more English in class and at schools, have lax discipline and children can do whatever they want.
This is really unfortunate and sad. If people have really been into a classroom of an international school, they will know that international schools are very strict, particularly in classroom discipline and order.
