my girl (14 months old now) has joined the little gym at new world centre since this year.

the curriculum for this age includes some physical activities like forward roll and backward roll, crawling, running, passing balls, walking on beams; and also sing-a-long activities.

i think this place is good for 6 months to 2 yr old kids for their socialisation and preparation of nursery life. my girl used to be very quiet in the first few lessons but now has become more active and easier to warm up in a group.

help info helps!

My girl is going to be 2 years old and shehas been going little gym for over half
year. She enjoys going there so much,
but it can't replace going playground,
because there's no slide and swing.

There are also other versions of gyms called "My Gym" in Metropolis Plaza and "Gymboree" in Central. I had a trial class inMy Gym but still like "Little Gym" more, never tried Gymboree as we live in Kowloon. You can call Little Gym to ask for trial class and pay $180 (around), or if youhave frens' kids going there you can ask them to invite you for similar discounts.

My boy attend a Sunday class. I like their instructors, all are very friendly and love kids very much. Look like very passionate with their "teaching". My boy has great fun there. Always say GouGou and points to his hand as they give stamps on kids' hand every time after class.
Nice for kids who are very shy and passive to try.

Will you consider to go a later time ? It's Flu peak season wor...... anyway, you can check which class has more kids since I think the admosphere would be better for a relatively more kids class.

My son joined this last semester. My son enjoyed but I think one full semester is too much as their programme will be repeated. Also, only 2 instructors for a group of 18 babies (maxi capacity) are not enough - you will be responsible to take care of your baby - esp. during the 15 mins exploration time that babies are allowed to play freely!

Another bad comment - the head of HK office didn't follow up my complaint and they just accepted all monies. What happened was - my son did the trial class a few lessons after they started a new semmenster. Then I enrolled after the trial class and the staff told me i had to pay the remaining 10+ lessons till the end. I told the front-desk staff that my intention was not to join so many classes but she insisted that if you join today, there will be a discount but have to join all remaining classes. Later, my friend told me that if I intend to join less classes say 6 classes only, I should book a trial class later - towards the end of the semester as they insist that you need to pay till the end of the semester. I complaint to the head that the front-desk staff knew my intention but didn't explain properly. Of course, no body follow up at the end and the semester already ended in Jan.

About the Flu peak season.  My son joined another playgroup in Laguna City in Lam Tin.  I asked on 13 March morning if their classes would be suspended according to the govt announcement and they answered yes.  but then on 14th night, the staff called me and asked why my son was absent and urged me to bring him back to class on Sat.
I immediately told them that they should follow the govt announcement to suspend all classes as it's dangerous to transmit the flu, but they said we have parents to accompany each child and they are just eca group.  We can't really understand what they are talking about but just got the idea that "if you don't go to the class, it's your responsiblilty and we will not arrange any make up class for you".
so the next day, we called them again to discuss the matter with them and we insisted that we would clarify the announcement with the govt departments and they need to give us full explanation.  after saying this, we guess they are afraid that we would bring out the whole issue to the EDB and the public and so they immediately replied that we would arrange make up classes for the suspension period.
We were soooooooooo disappointed and unsatisfied with this organization.  when they want you to enroll, they say we educate your child and so and so. but once the school need to follow the suspension order, they say they are only eca basis.  they see the children's safety as nothing and money as their top priority. i would never join this orgination again.

may i ask if this is a rule for playgroups who suspended their classes to have to organise a make-up class? the playgroup i went to kln tong suspended their class but they did not mention any make-up class.

on the other hand, Little Gym was opened during the flu season, and even next week during Easter! i am a bit happy about it because this is what we call "value for money"

However we as parents must be responsible and should never allow our kids to go to class if they are sick. also we need to keep a close eye on other kids who may be sick and have our kids stay away from them!

Absolutely agree! We bear the greatest responsibility to keep the child safe from being infected.  but you know, there are still selfish and irresponsible parents who don't care about their own or other children's safety.
I called the little gym to switch class yesterday and they agreed without any question.  that's why i like their class so much.
i don't know if other organizations should also arrange make-up class, but  i guess at least they should have some policy about situations like this.
and the point is, if they register in the Education Bureau under the name of Kindergarten, they must follow the suspension order.  i attend and pay directly to their kindergarten organization, shouldn't they also follow the order, no matter i attend the playgroup or kindergarten course?  Plus, playgroup children are even smaller than kindergarten kids, it's more dangerous to let them have class in the same area during this peak season.  am i right?
like the playgroup i go to in Lam Tin, when their instructor can't come to class, they will arrange make-up. but why when the kids can't go, they don't arrange anything.  Isn't it unfair?
