計劃在升中三的暑假考八級小提琴，如果合格後，又不想學演奏級，你們會否叫小朋友繼續學八級，以保持水準？如果完全停學，會否過幾年後就生疏晒？有什麼好提意？

If you stop the lessons, after a few months, the techniques will immediately drop, and after a few years of course you can't maintain the standard of grade 8 if you don't practise.

If you really want the kid to maintain the standard, you can ask him/her to join orchestra so that there are more regular practice.

Or continue to learn, at least two times a month (in case you think learning every week is too busy) to learn more songs. Even you don't want to get a diploma now, perhaps he/she can get the diploma in the future.

Afterall the whole point is about regular practice to keep the standard. Hope the comments can help
