A car uses 1/4 of its petrol on the first day of a trip, and 1/5 of the rest on the second day. What was the original amount of petrol in the car if there is 6 L of petrol left in
the tank?? (use algebra)

Let x be the original amount of petrol in the car

x (1-1/4) (1-1/5) = 6
x (3/4) (4/5) = 6
x (3/5) = 6
x = 6 (5/3)
x = 10
