(1) St Stephen is EMI sec school.

(2) St Stephen will be DSS in the secondary school. True Light is subsidized school.

(3) I heard that St Stephen (sec section) would be a compulsory boarding school

我上個月已經放棄咗真光, 留咗聖士提反.
以下係我決定嘅原因, 不過每個家庭嘅考慮因素都唔同, 只可以作個參考 –

St. Stephen
- 以普通話教中文, 其餘絕大部分英語教學.
- 外藉老師多 (當然同學費貴有關啦)
- 校舍較大, 空氣好
- 六年級寄宿, 可以比個女更獨立 (因為佢係獨女)
- 個女喜歡學校環境
- 活動教學, 以小組形式上課 (參觀過真光, 見仲係好傳統單向式, 面向黑板, 仍然用緊粉筆)
- 有同學仔一齊入讀

當然學校較遠同埋學費貴都係要考慮, 不過以我哋嚟講, 得一個小朋友, 可以負擔得起, 而且住西區, 入赤柱有校車都可以接受.

我哋留位時, 學校有一份資料, 有哂未來幾個月嘅schedule, 包括orientation meetings 比家長了解學校教學方向及大概, 參觀校舍, 主科教學等等, 仲有比家長協助小朋友適應小一生活, 而8月尾有兩日比小朋友返個半鐘學, 適應小一生活. 感覺上學校organise得好好.

Thank you for Candy925 to share your thoughts. And also other feedbacks and quotes.

Actually I think that as parents we must be very clear about the needs and characters of our kids so that we can choose the most appropriate school for her/him. But when you have more than one choice, you may think again if the decision is right or not.

As for my daughter, my husband and I think that St. Stephen's is more suitable for her.

I have also chosen St. Stephen for my daughter and given up True Light (Causeway Bay).

Both are good schools but you live in Taikoo, 真光 (大坑道) may be more suitable for you kid.

For me, I'll choose St. Stephen (Stanley) because I live in Western District. If you pick St. Stephen (Stanley), I suggest you shall move to avoid long travelling time.
