Dear all,
As I know SJS has enhancing its Chinese course but I see noting abt KJS on improving Chinese class, so I want to ask which is better if I want to train my kid in bilingual (End & Putonghua).
Can anybody share yr views w/ me??
Tkx in advance

ESF schools are not bilingual schools. Even RC is not and will not be a bilingual school. Even if both SJS or KJS would be enhancing their Chinese classes, children would not be bilingual. Or may be I should say that, children would not be bilingual WITHOUT any outside chinese classes. To qualify for being truly bilingual, you are probably aiming at taking both English and Chinese as Language A in IBD level. I wonder how many ESF (or RC, even) students can really do that, if they have all along been with the school from Year 1.
It seems that so far, amongst the international schools, only Yiu Chung and Victoria have the guts (and I really mean that) to say that they are bilingual schools. But from what I see, from friends with children in these schools, it just does not work. Children in such environment would end up not good enough at both English and Chinese.
I think many parents have commented on this before. It is a give and take issue. If you want a stronger Chinese cirriculum, you might consider local DSS. But then, you need to accept that the English environment would be totally different from ESF or other international schools.

Agreed with JennyL. I believe your target school, PLK CKY is a bilingual school.
All ESF schools including RC are native English IS.
