標題: 高主教收生請況 [打印本頁]

各位家長唔好意思，本人已獲得中環聖保羅堂收了本人囝囝讀08-09 K1(PM)但是本人居住九龍。我亦知道高主教會搬遷如果本人入讀聖保羅堂後會否影響高主教收生情況。高主教要搬到香港仔，以前高主教同聖保羅堂都是隔離好近，現在搬遷會否影響收生情況。

我都未知到讀九龍約克好定聖保羅堂好。我想給囝囝入聖保羅堂原因是想他入讀St Paul Primary School or 高主教小學。

希望各家長給我一些意見！

高主教 is moving to Wanchai in 2008 (near Wah Yan) not Aberdeen.

高主教 is a private primary school. You have to submit the application and go through the selection process (interview). I have no idea if the school prefers children from 聖公會堂. I believe that the performance of the children and parents at interview is most important.

Agreed. Interview performance is more importance. My son got accepted this year but he is not from 聖公會堂.

首先會家長及小孩子一起被面談, 老師會向家長發問一些關於(case study)小孩子行為問題及處理手法...之後就剩下小孩子獨自會見了...問番個仔都是一般測試puzzle, 寫名, 喜歡什麼遊戲等...還有, 我就被問及小孩打遊戲機的問題...睇吓你對打機的見解吧...

Yes, I was asked the same question. That's one reason I like Raimondi. Among SPC, SPCC, St. Stephen, and RC that my son has interviews, RC is the only school that will chat with the parents. I think this is a good attitude because I think the family environment and the parents play a major role in educating the kids.

My son's has not been baptized so we didn't mention our son is catholic in the application. So I guess the religion background is not important in my case.

That's right. After all the interviews, I can feel that RC is the only one that spent most of the time to interview the parents, they really talk to you to understand your parenting. From what I was told by my son, the interview with him is very easy, just talk a bit and then do something following simple instructions. nothing tricky.

To be honest with you, I don't know if there is any secrets to be successful in interview. My 2cents:
1. They will interview parents, trying to understand how parents deal with kid's problem. So be prepared.
2. Give your son more confidence.

Thanks for your reply. Do you have a son studying there? I want to apply to this school for my son in 08-09 and if he is lucky to get into it, do you know we can still proceed to 'lucky draw' as alternative?

Can you share the case study for us as reference?

My son applied for the coming P.1. Luckily, he was accepted by both SPC & RC and finally, after thorough consideration, we chose SPC for him.

We were requseted to sign an undertaking to withdraw from the lucky draw, so you have to get prepared for that.

My son is K2 too and my family like this school very much. I am surprised and disappointed to know that they put elder son in top priority, for example birthday in-between Sep 02 to Aug03 for the admission in Sep 2009. Does anyone know if it is a strict rule as my son's birthday is 2nd Sep?

Don't worry. My son was admitted and his birthday was in November. Besides, we live in the New Territories.
I think the interview performance is the most important factor.

SKAM, your kid was born in Nov 2003. Did he get any brother in RC. If no, your kid must be very outstanding. Congratulation.

I hope the young kid of other parents can enter RC. Good Luck!

I just to share my feeling below with parents of young kids. RC is still a good school on my mind.

My son was born in late November 2003, without brother or sister. He was rejected, even not qualified to be put on the waiting list. We lived in Fanling. Also, we haven't got any religious background or reference letter from any church, just with his good exam results and awards in his kindergarten as well as distinction in the English subject in the public exam (Thames Univ.). If he were a girl, he had already got a seat in St. XXXX (Conv.) in Causeway Bay!

I checked with the RC staff . They checked the interview record. The comment was actually "Not bad at his age"but he was a bit young beause RC usually didn't accept young kid (i.e., those born later than Aug 2003). In fact, the teacher said (after the interview), "Your son have well prepared.". They admitted that age was a constraint. They advised to re-try P1 for 2009/2010. No, I 'll not. If a kid is capable, why does the parent force him to repeat ? Even if DBS or SPCC asked me to do that, I 'll say 'No'.

Actually my son is still very young. However, I am searching for primary school information for him. I prefer an English primary school.

Do you know how long will it take from KLN city to the school by taking the school bus? how much?

Yes, Fanling is too far away from Rc. That's why I have told the teacher I would certainly take a move during the interview because RC was in HK side and both parents worked in HK side too. Perhaps, RC found doubt about my move.

By the way, the RC staff advised me (after the release of the result) to write down the intention of move in my application form next year!! If your location is too far and you 'll take a move to facilitate your kid's study, please DO remember to write it down on the application about your intention of move, no matter they believe you or not. But I will not take RC's advice to let my son try RC for 2010/2011 as a P1 applicant. It is absolutely incorrect to enforce him to repeat just because of his age rather than the capability!

My boy's interview by Cantonese. I think, both parents attend the interview should be more better.
