出年 3, 4月左右, 好多私校/直資位都confirm, 會有位出.  到時試下再向你心儀學校"扣門".  可能誠意令佢地接受你小朋友.

唔好唔開心啦.  好多時講天時,地利,人和.  要對你小朋友有信心呀.

就快X'mas.  諗下一家大細去邊度玩啦.

Lots of seats will be given up by those kids
who have been admitted by more than 1 school.

Believe it or not.
Some schools will call you again.

Yes, it is true.

My colleague's daughter could not even get into second round interview of a DSS last year. She received phone call from that school in June.

As long as those 3 DSS you have applied are not super schools, chance is still there.

I read your sharing before and felt relaxed. Thank you. I left everything to God. No 2nd in from all school applied. But admitted by a christian school finally. God knows where we should go.

I have done some statistic, the same batch of kids about 2000+ apply for all the propular P1 in HK. Each school will take up from 150 -180 kids and pick up same group of top 8% again and again. i.e. only those well performed 8% kids will be get accept by all schools and the remaining 92% rejected by all school (although there are some exception or waiting list).

Once the parant have made their final choice, there will be "A LOT" of seats released. As there are more than 15 good DSS and private school, I expected (15-1)x180 2520 seats will be released finally. If you are in waiting list, you should have good chance to get a seat excpet those top school such as DBS, DGS, ST Paull Co-ed. By Septemeber, there shoudl eb plenety of seats available.

Agree...most people will release the seats of DSS & private schools and you can check again later...

Last year's story:

I know a girl and a boy, applied at least 3-4 very popular DSS, failed. Wait and wait and wait, still no school call them again even the new semester starts in September.

I know another girl applied both very popular and also a less popular DSS, failed, but finally, the less popular called her at late August.

It sometimes depends on which school you are waiting for.

A great hints for those on waiting list, never leave Hong Kong for vacatioin this year until you got your favorite school, I know some school will give you up if your phone cannot be reached! Good Luck.

我阿仔重差, 考5間, 全部唔收. 婆婆話阿仔講重想再考, 之前佢考到第5間, 同我投訴點解成日面試, 依家先突然醒覺想考好佢, 不過遲左d lu.

家陣無野好諗, 繼續讀好K3, 為P1打好基礎, 叩門照叩, 希望讀好 P1, 或者P2 再插班. 另外可以睇下點解面試欠佳, 可能因為較內向及少說話, 就趁依家重細, 就幫下. 例如參加一些要合作的活動e.g. drama, football 亦可找一些會加強佢自信心的活動. 當佢信心大左, 就會表現好好多.

I would say there are at least 40 popular DSS/private school.

直資應該77, 88啦, 私校就民生(kln)的會下年6月先收生, 可以去八吓!!

不過, 如你再想向已applied而又收咗rejection letter的直/私學校叩門, 佢地未必考慮,因有d已一早講咗如無2nd round interview係唔會做到後補生的. 最好都係打去有關學校問吓!!

We should think in optimistic way.

More and more "competitors" got their places in DSS and finally required to give up "lucky draw" next year. That means we could a greater chance to get into our favourite school.

Above all, the good schools next year are free of charge.

你這樣想都不無道理, 但真心講top 的那幾間其實依然會那麼多人去抽, 因無成纘可以比, 比住你都會選好那幾間, 競爭一樣那麼大, 都要講運氣, 我好你小小仔仔考到一間直資 (是新校來), 所以都在考慮中. 祝你們好運.

Dont' give up. God bless us, we can have a situable school for our kid in the coming year.

You cannot expect too much for a kid she/he only 5 years old. There do no have formula to help them preform good during interview.

依家唯有等大抽獎，其實都係怪自已當初太過大安指意，一心諗住讀番亞仔個間直屬小學，所以無乜留意其他學校，但估唔到唔收，waiting list都無呀:tongue: :tongue:

知道時已經有好多學校截止申請，所以攪到咁傍偟！唉！

所有直資都收哂最top的小朋友,
他們都有5-6個位,
我們不突出的就一個位都無,都幾唏噓!
anyway,大家不是孤單的,
要有信心,最合適的我們孩子的,定會臨到的!
