Yes, I live in HK island.
As I think the school I choose for the 1st round gov't allocation is very difficult to fight for a place (given only 20 marks I have), the chance is so slim, if SPCC fails, the coming two nights will be sleepless!!

Are u still waiting for other good news?

My letter is still kept in the big green postal bag which is sleeping on the floor near the letter boxes. I have just checked the website of SPCC (under News and Events,not P1 Admission) and found the birth cert. ID of my son on the admission list.

WOW ! Thank GOD !!

Hi, PM2003,

We are not alumni and didn't submit any ref. letter. I think they mainly focus on child's ability as some applicants even with sister studying cannot go to 2nd interview

I am not sure how many will be in the waiting list. I suppose that all those who got 2nd interview but not got direct offer are in the waiting list. I am only saying that, in the waiting list, there is no fixed ratio between those related to SPCC and those who are not.

Actually, I think that the school has determined who are in the admitted list and who are in the waiting list when they arranged the 2nd Interview. There is absolutely nothing in the second interview for the principal to determine order of accepting pupils.

Why don't you phone the school and ask? It seems that the school is quite open about these matters.

Not sure. SPCC PS is through train to secondary school. DGJS has not made that promise.

Moreover, the father is an old boy of SPCC but we have no connections with DGS -- it is sort of unknown.

We are struggling whether to move or not to move.

其實我仔仔而家都係讀緊聖公會，不過佢就入唔到喇。但我早兩個月曾經問過班主任，上年有多少學生入到SPCC，佢話有成二十多個。所以如果今年都有20多個入到也不出奇呢！

You made a wrong calculation, evan 60% of 29 pupils acceptance rate comeing out of a number 18 only, still less than SKH..
If you can share with us the name of the KG with such high acceptance rate? It is quite incredible.

I meant 29 out of 48 pupils making it roughly 60% acceptance rate.

Well, as far as I know, that was a tradition decades ago.

I am a bit surprised by the 50% rate from the 2nd interview list. I speculate the overall rate to be 75%.

By the way, are parents of kids in SKH KG usually SPCC related? (i.e. alumni of SPCC)

don't want to advertise and no names will be mentioned. But it is a school well known (to those who know) to have a high acceptance ratio.

I think I am thinking of the same school as Peter Pan. BTW Peter Pan did mean 29 pupils accepted AND that 29 is 60% of all pupils applying. He/she did not mean that 60% of 29 were accepted.

其實相比起一些考學術性問題的小學，我覺得SPCC並不算難。不過實在太少位但太多人考，所以成功率不高。100個學位是給舊生/弟妹；其餘給其他申請人，即千幾人爭50個位。
我個人覺得始終係面試表現好重要，大方、自信心強、反應快的小朋友應是SPCC的對象。

Well, every year the SPCC Alumni Association organizes a Summer Gathering or Summer Home Coming. Before the function, there will be a Primary One Admission Talk by the headmistress. This year, it was on late June and was attended by 400-500 members of the Alumni Associatuoion (each need to donate something like $100 to attend).

So if one or both of the parents is/are alumni, join the SPCCAA and participate in that function.

I do not have the figure of the actual applications received this year. So that was an estimate based on previous years figures given by the headmistress.

I was of the impression that 200 were in the 2nd interviews this year. I speculate that the admitted list and waiting list were more-or-less finalized before the 2nd interviews. So for the 150 admitted, 105 related and 45 unrelated (This was stated clearly in the Primary One Admission Talk). For those 50 in the waiting list, I speculate something like 25 related and 25 unrelated.

DGJS是私校, 所有教育費用由學費來, spcc是直資, 用於學生的錢其實超過四萬八很多。

目前, 本地課程直資學校的收費上限是四萬八, 不知你六萬元的數字何來, 是指IB課程嗎?

請問: 你既意思係"私校"收既學費不會全數用於學生身上? 而"直資"則會補貼每位學生支出? SPCC(小學及中學)課餘活動要另外收費嗎? 知唔知每月大概要多少?

由小一至中七都有資助。資助額就每年都調整, 每名學生的資助等如每名在津校就讀的學生的平均成本。

不過, 你到中西區小學中聖保羅男女小學那邊的討論區問(家長為主)可能好一些。

但校友會和校董會有二億多元的基金, 資助經濟有困難的學生參與這些活動。

按校方資料"對於四人家庭，如果每年可動用收入少於港幣$540,000元，它仍可享有學費減免"

而可動用收入是扣除了租樓或供樓的支出的。

而減免額是由25%學費起計.

如果你的家庭收入不計房屋支出超過了半百萬, 都不算捉襟見肘了。

值不值得這樣花錢是另一問題。

而SPCC收的是願意為子女較佳的教育投下資源的人, 正是它能成為名校的原因之一。

上次的資料不完全正確:

查四萬元是高中的平均單位成本, 小學的單位成本只是$22,451. 而且, 學費收入的最少10%用於減免有需要人士的減免學費, 所以$48000的學費, 平均每名學生收到的費用約是$43000. 因此, SPCCPS花在每個學生的是約六萬五千元，而不是九萬.

所以考慮的是
(a) 不用花錢而取得值二萬二千元的教育服務.(官津小學)
(b) 花三萬多元而取得三萬多元的教育服務.(如DGJS收$36000)
(c) 花四萬八千而取得值六萬多元的教育服務. (SPCCPS)

我的選擇仍會是(c).

另一比較
(a) 官津校 24班計, 一般是39位教師, 加非常額教師2-3名, 那是1比1.75. 而每班35-36人. 1教師對20.6學生.
(b) 私校(以DGJS為例), 18班, 35位教師, 1比1.94, 每班36人, 1教師對18.6學生.
(c) SPCCPS, 目前24班, 75位教師, 1比3.13, 每班30人. 1教師對9.6學生.

如果單以DGJS和SPCCPS比, SPCCPS的教師學生比例是DGJS的1.94倍, 但學費只是1.33倍.
