I have gone through the curriculum of ICS. This IS adopts the US curriculum -

It seems that the graduates in ICS need not attempt public examinations. They will get the college Diploma in graduation then will be accepted by the US/Canada universities.

Of course I know Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), now known as SAT Reasoning Test. SAT consists of three major sections: Mathematics, Critical Reading, and Writing. SAT result is a major consideration for most US universities to admit students, in additional to the middle/high school diplomas of the applicants.

However, SAT is not a curriculum.

The UK curriculum is subject-orientated. The scondary school's curriculum largely based on the GCSE & A-level examination syllabuses.

On the other hand, there is no a standard curriculum in US. The academic subjects will not be graded in public examinations like the GCSE & A-level.

Thus SAT is easier than GCSE & A-level ?

Elite US colleges look at several things to judge an applicant's academic achievements :

1. GPA

2. Courses taken in school. To demonstrate their academic prowess, highschoolers applying for elite US colleges are expected to have taken the most challenging courses offered by  their school. A good score in AP ( Advanced Placement ) Exams is almost mandatory.
See here : http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/about.html

3. SAT / ACT results.
4. Teachers' comments
5. Other  extracurricular academic achievements.

...

There's no definite yes or no here . Any system is only as good as the student him/herself.
