Hi Bobo06,

it depends if you would like to choose IS in future or want more choices.

for Boxhill: only IS can choose after graduation as it's mainly English but teachers are not bad. Some parents want more choices for their children (locate or IS), they can consider Greenfield or Think

for Think: you can choose half day IS (fr K1!)(foreign teachers) and half day locate course but charge is high ($5200/m for 11-12m), school site (old school site of Greenfield) is not good and children coming in out the classrooms may easily sick, the kitchen exhausted air outlet is directly to the  playground, always smelling food. Well, amahs are trying their best to clean the place already.

for Greenfield: you can choose the English program (fr K1!) in the afternoon taught by foreign teachers also, it's a program including English learning, story telling, games and art. Almost same as IS. School site is a bit old but all air-conditioning & a covered playground, $3500+ _ 4010/m; more chinese and more traditional for chinese course (am).

My son has attended the playgroup in Greenfield and a year of pre-nursery in Think. I feel good for both of them. Yet Greenfield has much fewer NETs, in comparison with Think. And most kids who attend international stream in Think can go to EFS primary schools. So if you are pursuing a school with better English accent, Think may have an edge. Apart from that, the teachers there are quite caring and have good communication with parents. I pretty much know what was happening to my son there.

hi, mingyanma, may I know why u chose Boxhill, but not abacus? my son now is studying in greenfield N1, and I 'm struggle which kinder he will go to? I sent all application to Think, abacus and NEW song (in sai Kung, not sure anyone know about this school). But I never consider about Boxhill.. cuz sounds far away fm my home in sai kung.
And I plan to choose IS for my son in future, so not sure which kinder will be good for my boy? cuz there are really diff. teaching method.
DMJ103, u said students fm think international stream can go to ESF, so which one they will go? the chance to ESF is high? I want to send him to abacus, but I hv also heard some ppl said it's not really good school, and I want to put him in abacus, I want him wu hv more chance to get in Clearwater bay primary school. On the other hands, if I could send my son to think, and if the chance go to CWB school or other ESF primary school is high as well.. I think I will choose Think... (but anybody can tell me which method think use to teach their student? Learn fm play? or like Greenfield which a bit more hk style? thks!)

BBIX, what is the meaning of cwb school?  I think there is no diff b/w boxhill & Think for the international class.

The kid studing at Think (Duck or LN) should attend the interview on 1 DEC. 07 for promotion to (Bunnie or UN)in the next year but each class have few kids (around 7 & 8 kids)?  I don't know this policy is necessary or not?
作者: BBIX    時間: 07-11-10 14:05

appletreebb, thks a lot, cwb mean clear water bay school(ESF), and what 's LN and UN?
And do u think "think" has strong eng. environment for kids? u told me most of them fm int' class will go to RC, what about the rest? which int' they will go? thks!
作者: bebe_c    時間: 07-11-10 21:58

let's to clarify the info about THINK as my kids just graduted fm think last year......
for K1 - have int'l & bilingual class, each class around 18 kids; the class teacher is a native speaker. the difference between int'l & bilingual is bilingual have 45 mins cantones lesson

for K2 - only have 1 class with 2 class teacher, 1 is native speaker and 1 is mandarin teachers

for K3 - same as K2's arrangement

before, it's a quite good kinder which have high english standard, but it'll have a big changing as some of the teachers will leave the school next year as most of the teachers in the school is 2 years contract based and next year is a changing terms..........

Hi BBIX

Sorry for replying late. I understand that you aim at EFS primary schools. As fas a I know, some parents send their kids to Think because they target at international primary while at the same time, also want to let their kids have some input in Chinese in the kindergarten stage. So, they will attend full day, half day bilingual, half day international.

Every year, Think will prepare a little booklet for all parents, which include information on what primary schools (both local and international) the kids are headed. However, since I am not targeting at EFS, I did not know exactly which EFS did those kids go.

If you are going to attend the interview, I guess you can frankly discuss this point with the Principal. She may be able to shed some lights.

Hope it helps. Good luck.
